Thats a pretty direct answer. Don't really see that from Dubas. It'a almost like an anger response directed at Sandin.
Yeah or maybe he’s had some not favorable conversations with other GM’s and is a little frustrated.

I work in sales/logistics so there’s always stretch sometimes when things don’t go great and it can get under you skin without you realizing.

I think he's just done messing around with the media. Plenty of great RFA's out there but ours are the only ones that usually seem to come up in offer sheet talk to drive up the price.

Why not Tkachuk? why not Laine? etc..

Dubas has clearly set his price on a contract, Sandin has no leverage, take the deal or wait for this magical offersheet to come.

I think it is starting to get to the point where even though he is really our only good bet for a top 4 LD replacement behind Rielly, and he could realistically be that by next season, he is not worth the headache anymore. We can get a great return for him and Dubas can just find someone else to fill that hole when it opens up, even if it means going through the trade or UFA route.

If he turns out elsewhere, good for him. As long as we get an appropriate return for him (I'd want a top round pick, and I think he is very well worth it), then he can go.

Finding a good top 4 LD prospect suddenly becomes a high priority though. Kokkonen and Kral are solid prospects, but they are more likely bottom pairing options. Mateychuk would be amazing if he stupidly drops to us for some reason. I also go back to Grigori Dronov as a Russian UFA, even though I don't think he has top 4 upside.

Don't know about you but I thought the debate on whether we lost McCann or Hollander and a 7th to Seattle was pretty interesting. ;)

Well, it’s fairly simple. Who is the player currently playing for Seattle that just led their team in tucks with 27? Whoever that player is, that is the player we willingly and conciously lost to Seattle.

I feel the Holl trade (when it happens) is going to be for an AHL player. Similar to Johnsson for Anderson a few years back. A cap dump

Why would the Leafs move him as a cap dump?

Seems like terrible asset management for a guy with a lot of value.

Just take the 2nd. round pick and move on.

Someone else can reap the benefit of the Leafs development.

Maybe Detroit?

Dubas talking smack. Why wait for an OS? Just trade him tonight for a late first or early second. You are not getting anything better via an OS.

Wanted to try a "**** the future, go for it" lineup, however unrealistic (highly) it may be:

Trades:
Mrazek and Kerfoot anywhere for whatever
Tarasenko @ 50% (via cap floor team) for Robertson + 1st (+3rd)
Miller @ 50% (via cap floor team) for Sandin + 1st (+3rd)
Brown @ 50% for two 2nds+

Signings:
Fleury/Holtby @ 3M
Comrie @ 2M
Gagner @ 850k (or other defensively strong, cheap player)
Lazar @ 1.5M
Hinostroza @ 1.25M (ran out of cap... was the best I could find quickly...)

Cap Hit: $82,268,116
Cap Space: $231,884

Bunting - Matthews - Marner
Tavares - Miller - Hinostroza
Brown - Nylander - Tarasenko
Gagner - Kampf - Lazar

Rielly - Liljegren
Muzzin - Brodie
Gio - Holl

Fleury/Holtby
Comrie

Could theoretically save 1M by moving out Holl, giving 2.5M for an alternative to Hinostroza.
