While everyone was watching Severson cough up furballs, I noticed Siegenthaler's D play was positionally sound and he was always minding his gaps and engaging physically. Surprised me in a good way.
A 3rd or 4th i think it was the price

One deal I wouldn't mind seeing would be,

To Toronto-
Connor Murphy
Kirby Dach

To Chicago-
Alex Kerfoot
Rasmus Sandin
Justin Holl
If they could use Sandin to swap Mrazek for Murphy that wouldn't be bad from the Leafs POV. Unfortunately the Hawks are loaded with LHD (McCabe, Stillman, Jones, Beaudin, Vlasic, Allan) and pretty bare in RHD (Jones, Murphy, Mitchell). If McCabe can truly play RD as capfriendly states then I could see Sandin playing in the top 3 LD there.

The same pick from the Hall trade. They got Mercer and Siegenthaler for 35 games of Hall.

Is Sandin + Hirvonen + 25th Overall for Chychrun at 50% retained worth it when you consider that someone still has to transfer to the right side and that could be a problem?

Or do you assume the talent upgrade is so great that they should be able to make it work?

Rielly - Brodie
Muzzin - Chychrun
Giordano - Liljegren
ex. Holl/FA
100% worth it. Not to mention what Chychrun would do for our PP especially in the playoffs.

i cant believe anybody wants this on the team

Any chance he lands here?
With the numbers being thrown around extension wise and the types of assets Vancouver seems to be targeting I would say no. He’d be a one year rental anyhow unless you foresee significant changes to the cap structure. Even then he’s just replacing another forward and the cap displacement is probably even greater considering a he’s getting more than 6.9

Tarasenko wants to be traded still.. he’d be a nice addition but costly
Don't see many contending teams or lower end teams trading for one year of Tarasenko @ 7m. Now I could see contending teams trading for Tarasenko retained at 50% for a 3.5m cap hit.

He's the type of forward that could fill the hole beside Willy and JT and isn't afraid to get dirty.

This trade would actually really help Ottawa if it has any truth to it.
Hypothetically, two players under contract for a good amount of time should certainly figure to help Ottawa out for the present. OTOH, Montreal could very well end up with the best and worst of such a move over the long haul.

With the potential Montreal/Ottawa blockbuster. Maybe, picks are getting thrown a little more than usual this draft.

Michael McLeod + Mackenzie Blackwood + 2nd Overall Pick for William Nylander + Justin Holl + 25th Overall

Why would new jersey do this? They would get Nylander for one or two years and then he would leave.

You could say that about any possible Nylander destination.
Does that make him untradeable?
