So you would think fleury would be down to us and Colorado. He already refused Washington. Although maybe the desmith contract pisses fleury off? Malkin and fleury to wash would be quite the heel turn.

Regardless.

1.) colorado
2.) wash
3.) edmonton
4.) jersey
5.) buffalo

With wash and jersey already having young potential starting goalies who could turn it around.

It’s us and Colorado for fleury and husso. Most likely.

Minny too but you would think he would have went back

This is one of the main reasons I’m not concerned about a Matthews Marner or even nylander extensions. Unless Willy goes for 100pts the next two seasons he’s probably looking at something with an 8, Mitch is pretty much maxed out maybe a rounding up to 11.5-12 and with Matthews same sorta thing except it’ll be more like 13-14. Combined that’s less than what Colorado is going to have to come up with to keep macK and it still leaves you with half of JT’s expiring 11m to fill that hole/spread around the line up (maybe Willy or Mitch become 2C)
It’s not nearly the issue it’s made out to be, and almost as if the teams lead AGM wrote a majority of the CBA and cap rules.
I will guarantee right now Mack will get 10-10.5 based on his previous comments which will be covered by 2/3 of E. Johnson's expiring contract. In a perfect world Marner doesn't surpass whatever Gaudreau is about to get and Matthews doesn't surpass 13. Nylander should top out at 8 - 100k more than Fiala who has put up very similar numbers over the last 3 years.

Soft, yet our hits leader for D last year. Second overall on the team.

I'm not sure whether to laugh, or cry.
Team leader in hits means nothing. The leafs are the softest team in the league. Holl was ragdolled a couple of times he tried to protect his teammates. For a big man he is soft he doesn’t hit hard. No one fears coming down his side.

NJ is not happy with their goaltending and I believe they will be players for Husso. Our hope is that we can sell him on winning in Toronto because if it is us or Sakic, I go Sakic if I am him.

I doubt Gaudreau gets more than Marner.

Thats a lot for puljujarvi . I dont think he is as good as kerfoot and yiu want to give a first as well. Edmonton wants to get rid of this guy. They have had him for a while and he hasn’t stepped up to his draft position

do u know that Colorado only had 18 more hits than the Leafs did last season? or that the Leafs ranked 6th in hits/60 in the playoffs last season as well?

Kerfoot isn’t a better center than Kampf. Also, we can’t add pace anything to their wings without the cap space that trading Kerfoot would create.
I said better offensive player. And their career stats show Kerfoot is superior to Kampf in that regard. Which is what was being talked about. Nowhere did I say Kerfoot is a better center than Kampf.

He’ll probably get <10M which is sickening as a Leafs fan. Even if he gets 10-10.5M fin UFA it’s disgusting to think the Leafs have been paying Marner 10.9 for 3 years and he’ll be looking for a decent raise in another 3.

I guess you can look at it that way. Marner is a better player than Gaudreau however, on both sides of the puck, so it’s a bit of a bad take imo.

White is intriguing as a reclamation project. But is there a fit?

Leafs have a center hole on their bottom lines and a few spots up for grabs. If White wants to be on a good team and what not, the fit is there.

If he wants more minutes and a bigger shot, a rebuilding team could be a better fit.

RFA vs UFA. As good as Marner was this year, Johnny was better.

Exceptional players get paid on their first post-ELC contracts nowadays.

It’s a young man’s league.

And this year Marner vs Gaudreau is entirely debatable. Gaudreau was certainly healthier

Any idea why Sens are dumping him ?? Red flag for me.

There’s definitely a fit. Whether that’s on the wing with Tavares or playing center on the third line. He should cost more than 2 million on a 1 year deal either.

A lot of money for someone that never took the next step and isn't worth anywhere near what he was making, mostly due to injuries. His buyout was very cheap this year. If the Sens had waited another year, the buyout was much bigger because of his age.

Now that he's a free agent, the red flags are gone. It's low risk medium reward.

I get that you feel this way but I'm more of a facts guy so please explain using facts how Marner is better than Gaudreau.

Actually, that's just another opinion. Mitch was better defensively and does PK. Gaudreau scored more, but only because he played more games.

Mitch is definitely better defensively and most likely the better player but Johnny got Hart consideration this year. Not sure how much Mitch did.
