I would have preferred that easily...Couldn't Dubas have given Campbell 4.6 million?
Rumours and spec are that he's looking for 5+Really poor job.
I had a feeling Dubas was trading at a disadvantage.
Just to add:

I’m typically a fan of Dubas, but this was God awful. The type of move that warrants a press conference ASAP to explain what the hell he was thinking.
More like 5-5.5 but still better than Murray at 4.7Really poor job.

If I had to spitball, he probably wanted to flip the 3rd for another team to retain the rest, but no takers before free agency ?Like how did this trade take so long only for it to amount to this...
Nothing to do now but pray that Murray is good and healthy next season.

Lmao he wont pay Campbell 5 mill so what makes you think he will get another goalie. Maybe a min salary typeWell 6 million for another goalie, and a whole 4th line. I don't know how you manage to do that. That doesn't even factor in the Engvall and Sandin raises.
Alone, this trade is a fireable offense and makes it look like Dubas wants to be fired, but I guess we'll see how the team is in September
That's all he can really afford barring no significant moves.Lmao he wont pay Campbell 5 mill so what makes you think he will get another goalie. Maybe a min salary type
this is basically how i am viewing this as well.I imagine Kerfoot and Holl are getting moved out for more cap space.
There is also still the very distant possibility that there is more to this trade that may come later, but on the surface, this was arguably Dubas' worst trade outside of maybe the Foligno deal.
Seems like he gets worse with experience.
were the signing bonuses paid out on July 1st or is it July 13th as that’s officially the start of the next season and free agent day.
I ask because I’m crossing my fingers that the Murray trade is a 2 part trade kind of like the Polak/Reiner to SJS 2 parter and the future considerations is a Kerfoot for stuff deal after his bonus is paid. Ottawa wanting to do the Murray part now while the buyout window is still open so they had a backup plan in case it fell apart
I was really hoping for Samsonov, but I think it's gonna be hard to fit him now...
