Either the insiders are terrible, or Leafs are really good at hiding info
After Lou Lamouriello was hired (I know he's no longer with us, but one of the reasons why Shanny Hired him) was because of the "Curtain" they were able to put around the Leafs. MLSE solely focused on the Leafs and made sure the media would not reach them and that is one of the things Dubas and Co have been incredibly serious about because the mass media and scrutiny that comes with the leafs are very different. There were tiers and levels you would have to jump just to even get permission to talk to players for the Leafs EVEN if you were working for them in the marketing department and so forth. It was legit called like the Iron t Also why Dubas blew a keg when the blackhawks GM did what he did because it is not easy to pry info out of them. Most insiders in general get most of the details as a trickle-down effect from agents or other execs who got via "mutual friends"/agents. It's likely why Davidson had to apologize in front of the GMs in the GM's meeting.

I am not surprised they are not able to get it...

Edit: Should put, Liewicke also played a big part of this as well. Hence I still miss him.

Murray the starter? Like the guts by Dubas but this is a decision.
Edit: actually Dreger said the obvious. Likely 2 goalies Leafs are looking at.

He did? I sure hope so. I’m nervous as hell if Murray is our starter and kallgren or woll are backing him up.

Something tells me this deal is going to have some complex parts and I bet a third team will be involved in eating salary. Leafs probably get a pick as part of the return thag will be sent to that third team.

The cost to move his contract better hurt Dorion. As much as I think a healthy Murray is a real #1 option, Ottawa has 0 leverage in this trade. 50% retained + what AZ got for Kassian as a start.

I'd forego the sweetener if ottawa gives assets for a third team to retain on Murray tbh. I'd rather the cap space. Just send an additional pick our way and it's good.

Getting a good young player on a cheap deal that can contribute now is like additional cap space. Anyone you sign as a UFA instead will just take up the difference.

So 50% retention?

Edit: LMAO Jeffler deleted his implied 50% retention tweet. Swing and a miss.

We are not getting enough back considering we are giving up Kerfoot.
Sorry for slow response. Yeah I think most people propose trades badly in Leafs favour so maybe I overcorrected, but my thoughts were that a soft return on Kerfoot would help facilitate the double retention.

I guess we'll see soon enough haha

Edit: oof
