Someone we should target: Adam Henrique

Ducks might be able to retain some cap, 2 more years left on his deal, great on face offs, can play C & W, hometown veteran.

Kerfoot would probably be a piece of value to the Ducks, they can give him some PP time to inflate his numbers and sell him at TDL.

Wonder what else would have to be added, the more we add the more they retain.

Teams that need goalies that are in playoff
Contention are

Washington
Toronto
Colorado
Edmonton.

Rebuilding teams like buffalo/jersey/Chicago/Arizona also will be looking

Assuming kuemper stats Toronto is 1 or 2 on this list.

Campbell. Husso fleury. Comrie are really
The only ones I’m interested jn

Samsonov/vanacek. Blackwood Gibson hill could come available.

The Leafs have a bunch of different players for the bottom lines. Not sure I'd bother with tweeners or marginal players, especially if we're spending assets for them. They'd have to be exceptionally good to me.

I'd much rather focus to get a quality forward, maybe 2 depending who goes, and giving a couple young players a realistic shot for a spot. Anderson isn't surviving another waivers either.

Why not see what we have internally, Steeves, Douglas, Anderson, Robertson

Not saying you can't do that. I guess the one thing Lazar does somewhat have is a little bit more proven ability, and can also take draws as a RH shot.

Douglas is also not NHL ready. He needs another year in the AHL before he is ready to properly compete. He may get some chances this year, but I wouldn't be giving him a spot on day one like I would the other three.

Doubt the Ducks would be willing to part with Henrique unless we are giving some real value back. He is a leader, takes the hard defensive minutes giving Zegras some room, and is coming off one of his more productive years in recent memory.

Could they get like a 7th for any of Mik/Blackwell/Kase?
It would be cool if they could someone get a 7th for Mikheyev's rights. Rarely happens, but Tampa got one for Goodrow last year (and NYR didn't even sign him 8 years), so you never know.

If Kase's RFA rights were moved, I think he'd get a mid-round pick honestly. Probaly worth even more, but it comes down to the health concerns.

Blackwell wouldn't net a return.

Musings lol…

Sign Gio. Then we have Reilly Gio Sandin Muzzin on the left. Brodie Liljegrin Holl on the right. To me, Muzzin and Holl are expendable.

If Bunting is one top 6 LW does Robertson fit as the other? Can Engvall make the jump? Knies?

Are the leafs comfortable with Campbell? Could we sign an UFA like Keumper?

Top line LW or Goalie could be solved by a trade package consisting of: Muzzin/Holl/Kerfoot/Robertson/prospects/Picks

I’m very excited to see what this off season brings.

Looking at Group 6 UFA dumpster there are a few random recent prospects, the Islanders D Sebastian Aho, G Felix Sandstrom, Zach Senyshyn, Samuel Morin.

I'm almost thinking if we have a cheap Gio, maybe that frees us up from keeping Brodie? Brodie is RD, but he's also kind of not a good wingspan defender or overly physical, doesn't generate any offense, has no shot and has been somewhat leaky in Year 2.

I don’t know man, Brodie makes me feel very calm and can play with any of our LHD

If not Muzzin who? Sandin is the future 1D. Reillys contract is very fair. Gio was awesome.
Im a big Liljegrin fan. Brodie I mentioned.

Trade Muzzin and fill bottom RHD with a Marlie or trade/sign. Is Topi ready?

Morin retired. Senyshyn is a pure AHL reclamation project. We don't really need goalies like Sandstrom, nor a defenseman like Aho.

Not too many UFA G6 guys worth looking at this year now that Zboril re-signed.

Euro market looking super dry outside of Kuzmenko and Dronov at this point too. Malgin coming back would be one if the better moves to be made from Europe.

Most interesting options stayed in Europe.

Not really anyone that would factor into immediate roster plans outside of the three mentioned above, but some type of U23 prospect addition may be worthwhile

Yeah Brodie is a quiet defensive defenseman with a terrific active stick and efficient in zone exits and transition. But he's also been a little bit worse in 2021-22.

Yeah, I would just be interested in a name for the Marlies with some unknown upside. Phillippe Myers would be another guy if the Preds buy him out.

I think I outlined it in a post a few pages back. That is pretty much an extensive list of guys who can factor into the Leafs' plans next year for a reasonable price. Sans goalies because we will wait and see about the approach.

For the Marlies, I think we are looking at a center like Jankowski, Brooks, Joshua, etc. to fill a top 6 role and then guys like Myers for one of 2 top 4RD roles we need to fill

To
Toronto
Gibson
Comtois

Ducks
2022 1st
Robertson
2024 2nd
Kerfoot
Mrazek

Leafs get a starting goalie and a potential top 6 winger if comtois bounces back and only take on 1.1 mill in extra cap.

Hell no, Gibson hasn't been good in years and has a sizable cap hit and Comtois isn't exactly lighting the world on fire

Let alone giving up a 1st, 2nd, 50 point C/W, kid in his very early 20's who was scoring PPG on the Marlies and that plug Mrazek

We're also taking on over 1M in cap to

Not in a million years

Chris Johnston and Friedman both mentioned Mason Marchment as a player the Leafs will target this off-season.

I'm fine with it. Just don't know how much he'll cost. But he's def the type of player we need in the top 6
