Everything's fine outside the offer sheet.

But I just don't think we'll see a massive shakeup.
If Calgary retains Gaudreau/Tkachuk at 20M combined they will have 8F/4D/2G with 7M to spend. If Mangiapane were to sign one you'd think he'd be willing to sign with an instant contender in his home town.

I agree that a shakeup is unlikely but no one can say a shakeup can't improve this team.

Mirtle says in his most recent article that Engvall and Kase could be problematic due to arbitration but that the leafs have had positive talks with them because both players want to be in Toronto.

Also, Campbell and Mikheyev are probably gone.

He has Engvall/Kase pegged at $1.75M and Sandin/Liljegren at $900k. He mentioned sources before posting these salaries.

i wouldnt even offer Kase a contract, i like him, but, for his personal safety, he needs to retire, and the constant hole in the lineup because of injury doesnt help the team either.

Our 4th line was a problem last year. I hope we go into the year with a style we want on the 4th, rather than a random mix of guys. Abruzzese didn't look like he was a fit that low down.

Let's give Curtis Douglas and Anderson a long look, and get a veteran grinder to play LW. Cycle and forecheck line.

Last sewson, Of season of 23 nylander goal at even strenght season+ playoff, only 19 come off the rush...

How many chance off the rush you will get during an #7 game or during OT or a game without any space on the ice like whats its look like with tampa vs NYR ?

soft on d, affraid of physical game, unable to create any offensive outside of pp or off the rush... i dont think nylander bring as much than everyone think... yes hes ppg but honestly hes overrated...

for jt With wich kind of player he get the most succes in career? Player just rushing the net like okposo, moulson ... perron, copp, palat, niedereiter are better fit with jt than nylander...

11th OA and has shown flashes. My guess is he gets a little bit more runway before LA looks to move him. On the other hand, the Kings are loaded with young talent and could see Vilardi as excess.

Didn’t Nylander lead the league in goals around the net a couple of years ago?

My god don't you ever tire of being wrong? Nylander led the league in goals from the slot a couple of years back.

From pp he scored a lot around the net, at even etrenght first 5 season i dont knoe

We should watch only even strenght for the first 5 season to really know

So only count 5v5 goals from the slot?

I think maybe being a little too generous.

I think perhaps we should discount all assists on Matthews goals, because Matthews is two time goal scoring champ and assists from those shouldn't count for passengers.

Yeah, I agree. Bizarre takes.

That seems very reasonable. I hope Engvall gets a 2-3 years at that price.

1. Engvall is better than people here give him credit for. If we can get him at $1.75 with say.. three years, it will be an excellent deal.
2. Kase.... when he's healthy, love him. But, he is unlikely to ever stay healthy. I'd wish we could move on from him.
3. Mikheyev... I love what he brings to the table. It's too bad that we likely won't be able to keep him, he will be missed.
4. Sandin/Liljegren at $900k? I mean, sign me up, that would be incredible, and please do it with some degree of term... two, three years...

@Brobust thanks for posting this.

Kase at 1.75? I don’t think he really deserves a raise given how likely it is for him to miss an extended period of time.

I thought Engvall would get $2.5M for 2 years. This is likely just for a 1 year deal.

On Sandin and Liljegren, Mirtle mentioned those are AAV's on one year so it will likely be a bit more on term.
Good news it sounds like Leafs are making progress in the players they want to resign.

Hopefully Dubas can clear up some cap space by trading Kerfoot/Holl for some draft capital. Maybe even somehow find a way to get rid of Mrazek. That should free up another 9.3 million if we don't take back any salary.

Dubas has to be really careful this year on who he's giving out term/money to when it comes to the UFA market. Scoring was up this season, it seemed like every other player in the league had a career year this year. There are going to be a lot of terrible contracts given out this year (more than the usual). Hopefully Dubas has learned from his past mistakes, and is not one of the GMs that is going to get burned. We do not have the assets to keep paying to get rid of bad contracts.

I thought ilya mikheyev once again didn't have a good playoff series. I expected more from him after a great regular season, 2 empty netters is not good enough. He was not a scoring threat at all in 7 games against Tampa and he didn't register a point in 7 games against Montreal and didn't register a point in 5 games against the blue jackets. That's three straight years of disappointing playoff performances

Please show us most of those
