Kerfoot, Holl, Robertson, 1st, 2nd to Philly for Travis Konecny and Justin Braun
Dermott for Comtois
Giordano for Hirvonen + 3rd

Konecny - Matthews - Nylander
Bunting - Tavares - Marner
Mikheyev - Kampf - Engvall
Comtois - Spezza - Kase

Rielly - Lyubushkin
Giordano - Brodie
Muzzin - Braun

We would need 50% retention on Giordano, Braun, and Comtois to make that fit under the cap, and also we’d have no room for spares. Sandin, Liljegren, and Engvall would all have to be sent to the minors, along with Clifford.

This might sound crazy BUT how would y'all feel about this...

To Calgary - JT, Dermott.

To Toronto - Monohan, Zadarov.

JTs contract is an absolute albatross. I do like him as a player but he doesn't mesh well with Willy and it seems Mitch will forever be Mattys winger. Dermott needs a change and is going to get it (probably within the next 24hrs).

Monohan is 4yrs younger and has shown he probably isn't a #1C but can play with talented players and is a responsible 2-way guy. Would slot in well behind AM34 and I think could be a fit for Billy Nye. Nadarov is a defensive and nasty dman who can play either side and balances the books financially between the teams to facilitate a trade.

Maybe some picks going back either way to balance things out.

Yes I know JT had a NMC but I think he MAY be willing to wave as he seems like a Sutter kinda player. He did very well under Babs.

I know this isn't going to happen but have fun with it. Wuddya think?
JT’s not waiving for Calgary, Monahan and zadorov suck.

We have so many holes I prefer simply not to do anything.

Top 6 LW which makes the 2nd line functional
Basically an entire phsysical 4th line
A top 2 RHD
A top 4 D

A starter goalie
Lol this is so sad when you look at it. For me they gotta get better defensively at deadline. And if u can make a play for fleury, u do it

Tampa signs Ilya Usov to a 3 year ELC.

26 points in 40 KHL games as a 20 year old this year. Solid 2-way player too.

Between him and Declan Carlile, they have done a decent job adding free talent to their pool.

Thats why they are able to part ways 1st and 2nd rounders

Free wallets.

If last year at this time someone suggested Dermott for Bunting what would have been the reaction?

Need to fill a need, and maybe Dubas can do that without giving up too much.
There is a tonne of talent on the team, and many questioned Hyman being a top 6.
Who thought Bunting was a top 6?

Bertuzzi’s name has popped up here and there surprisingly. I won’t lie, the thought of dealing with Yzerman worries me but Bertuzzi would be a nice add alongside Tavares.

Having that skillset and snap show quality would be nice, but Bertuzzi himself seems like a bit of a... controversial person.

If this managment team traded two firsts and two 2nd round prospects for a third liner then back filled with an undrafted KHL free wallet everyone here leaf fan or not would ridicule them for it.

Not necessarily. We have had some of free agents work out for us. Maybe not at Panarin level

It depends return of value

If its foligno type of output then yes

I do think Motte would be a solid upgrade in terms of adding speed/tenacity on the bottom lines.

I can't say I'm overly hyped about this. I think though that the Leafs should be focusing on bigger/stronger forward types (Im the one saying this).

If this team made the Hagel deal then signed this KHL kid everyone would roast them for it. You can’t convince me otherwise.
Regardless of how they play.
Funny you mention Foligno, he’s the guy the entirety of the “grit & truculence” group around here wanted damn the cost, and now it’s used as an example by those same people of this group wasting assets.

Honestly that is what this team might actually need. Someone who can light a fire under others ass’.

Feels like Motte would just get us back to having a healthy Kase.

If the Predators game was a harbinger for a playoff worst case scenario, it's the Big Guns that have to break through and they have to play a better team defense under heavy forecheck. I don't see any overpay between today and tomorrow that will address those issues if the solution doesn't come internally.
