Similar to when they brought in Robertson in last year. Needed a jolt of energy and something different than what the Leafs have in their line-up.
I love Robertson and think he will be a solid NHLer once he gets some more strength in his legs but I could see Knies stylistically being far more effective in a playoff setting.

Although just drafted in this most recent draft, Knies was a late birthday so his birth year is from the prior draft class. If he were a CHL player he would be playing in the AHL this year. Not super far-fetched that he signs and joins the Leafs after the NCAA tournament.

As much as I think Kerfoot would be an easy chip to move for cap space, I think the Leafs like his versatility too much and his role on the PK.
That and the fact he's shown up in both series he's been a part of in the blue and white. Can't take that from him..just seems hard to find a great fit for him...yet his versatility to suddenly become your 2C in a pinch is hard to replace
