Would you trade Mrazek for Koskinen (pending UFA, retained to equal salary) 1 for 1?

I like Konecny, but he wouldn't be my first choice. He's basically a Kerfoot upgrade long-term. I'd like to squeeze that 2 million dollars a bit tighter. I think Miller or Chychrun are better value adds.

Currently, the Leafs have $5,265,833 in cap space. They need to use it. Hold Muzzin back until the Kucherov time frame. I don't care if we finish 1st of 4th in the division, I want to ice the best team possible. If Muzz can come back for the playoffs, great. But use that space to your advantage. For christ sake, this is a bonus +.

Wonder what the cost/benefit is between Forsberg and JT Miller.
Why in the heck would they trade him when they're in the middle of a playoff hunt? They hold the first wildcard and only 4 points back of second in the division. Doesn't make sense, but I'd LUV him as a Leaf.

lol somehow not surprising

I didn't like that trade the second it happened. Have been vocal about it here too over the years. Doesn't look any better now than when it did. There was a brief moment where Bracco and Dermott both looked like they were promising prospects, but fast forward and we clearly lost that one. Doesn't make things any more palatable knowing that guys taken directly after Dermott include Sebastian Aho, Brandon Carlo, Erik Cernak, Rasmus Anderson, and Oliver Kylington. Big old flop in that 2nd round.

Not the only trade-down Dubas has made, and IIRC he seemed to do well in the other one.

Dubas did well on value with his trading down, Hunter effed up picking the wrong guys.

I mentioned JT Miller + Schenn last week, confirmed JT Miller connection today, but Schenn likely isnt of interest at his price point.

Another interesting one I could see garnering some interest, Chiarot+Lehkonen.

Murphy+Hagel would be a pricier version, or somewhat comparable. MAF could garner some suggestions in discussions but unlikely feasible.

Gio+Jankrok is my darkhorse here.

Chychrun is the home run here, but people may cringe at the cost.

I would assume Toronto is in regular contact with those teams.

The Chychrun cost is more palatable when you consider his resale value.

Even if he costs the equivalent of three firsts, you can resell him in two years for the equivalent of two firsts. Resulting in two years of Chychrun for the cost of one first.

Surprised Gio is a 'dark horse'. I would think he would be near the top of the list, seems like the perfect pickup.

I suggested dark horse simply due to the fact that Gio as the main target doesn’t sound like Dubas ideal acquisition based off cost and age/term.

I feel he inquires and holds onto the thought but certainly isnt pulling the trigger unless its a “reasonable” cost.

What even is this? Do you have to take a shot at the team when not even commenting on them? Your life must suck
naw my life's my damn good that's why i don't need to get my pleasure from making excuses for every underperforming players so i can pretend this team is flawless

age catches up to everyone even Leaf players but for some strange reason we have a few fans that can't accept this and need to constantly make excuses why a player isn't performing at their career peak

Got it.
What do you think the cost for Gio would be?

Murphy + Hagel is interesting. Could you speak what you think that deal would look like? IMO the non-rental nature makes it worth opening the vault, but it certainly throws the offseason into chaos.

Any idea on the cost of these targets?

Murphy+Hagel is probably sky-high?

Any inkling on Severson and McLeod (my dark horse pick-up)?

So you think Chicago is going to move their superstar player in Debrincant for trash? Really?
Are 1st round picks and Robertson trash? I just included the NHL pieces.

Debrincat is a UFA after next year and Chicago is stuck in a weird spot where they will likely waste the prime years of his career being terrible.

They're better off trading him for a package. If they take salary in they can get an even better one.
