Even FO jobs pay a lot less than the same positions in the rest of the private sectorNot anymore.
I remember hearing about how poorly paid scouts are and was shocked. I forget who told the story years ago about how a guy met this woman and she was ready to fast track the relationship when she found out he worked with a pro sports team but then found out it wasn't as lucrative as she thought and wasn't as interested anymore.

I wish people would stop putting Sandin in trade proposals.
Full NMC to protect against being sent to the AHL (or a trade/trade value somehow emerging from this by the deadline). We're also fairly well into the season at this point and the Oilers do have games in hand on most of the teams they are trying to catch.
They gave him a full NMC?
IMO I would definitely not trade Sandin for Severson. I doubt I'd even trade Lilly for him. Give them Dermott ++
From the chat they all saying Blackwood is very overrated and they need a starting goalie asap for this season and future? Why would they do that?
Doubt Liljegren does either considering potential roles and line up fits. If Liljegren takes the next step he's going to fill a much bigger role going forward than Sandin will. I would definitely consider moving Sandin over Liljegren if the trade garnered a player who filled a hole and timeline of this roster with term left.Sandin and Severson isn't even a conversation that deserves any consideration.
To Toronto-
Damon Severson
Mackenzie Blackwood
Miles Wood (currently skating, couple of months away)
To New Jersey-

Maple Leafs looking to add defenceman - The Fourth Period
The Toronto Maple Leafs are among the teams interested in strengthening their blueline and Leafs GM Kyle Dubas will try to acquire a veteran defender before the trade deadline arrives in less than two months.
Dubas is trying to move some salary to give his team more cap flexibility, as TFP reported earlier this week, and has been looking to unload the likes of Travis Dermott and Nick Ritchie.
The Leafs have been linked to such veteran defencemen as Montreal’s Ben Chiarot, Chicago’s Calvin de Haan and Anaheim’s Josh Manson, all of whom are in the final year of their respective contracts and can become unrestricted free agents in July, if unsigned. Toronto has also checked in on Dallas Stars blueliner John Klingberg.
With very limited cap space, the Leafs will need to move out salary in a deal or a subsequent trade and likely have the team trading them a defenceman retain a portion of that player’s salary, which will affect the cost.
The Maple Leafs are believed to be willing to part with their 2022 or 2023 first-round draft pick in a trade for an immediate upgrade.
Toronto currently sits third in the Atlantic Division with a 25-10-3 record.
Not sure he’s an upgrade either, but the team kicked tires on him when he was a FA so there’s past interest.De Haan is interesting. He's someone I was looking at as a potential veteran addition. He can play both sides. He's a solid defensive defenseman last I checked, but provides very little offence. Not sure he's much of a upgrade over our current options though.
