Tinordi is not better than Holl (and I say this as someone that doesn't love Holl).

I wouldn't mind him over Dahlstrom/Biega though.

Tinordi is the worst defenseman on one of the worst defenses in the league. He has never been an NHL caliber defenseman.

How people think he is an upgrade on anyone in our lineup, even Dahlstrom, is beyond me... And Dahlstrom will be going back to the Marlies now that Holl should be ready for the next game.

Say Dubas was actually interested in Severson. What do you guys think it would take to acquire him?

Dermott, Ritchie, a prospect like SDA, and a 1st; we also get Vesey.

Keep in mind that Severson doesn't get PP time here more than likely, and has never handled Holl's role (without sucking). He has found a niche in a Brodie-like role, but he is not going to add physicality to our defense (if that is what people want) and we are hoping Brodie can handle what Holl brought to the table.

Holl has been a pylon all season and gets carried by Muzzin every game they play together.

Holl played the toughness matchup all season long and helped toronto being one of the 5 befensive team by stopping best opponent line game after game but you tell me than an awfull d like tinordi who unable to be good against a 4th line should be better? Tinordi is an other kind of Martin Marincin, come on be serious.

That is an insult to Marincin. Marincin has always been better than Tinordi, and it was never close.

If you are gonna grab a guy to be barely an NHLer, at least get a guy who can skate.

Chris Wideman has looked decent in a bottom pair role, can skate decently, has put up some points, and has positive advanced stats in most categories. Montreal is going nowhere, and with a cap hit of 750k you cant really get a better deal.

Mark Pysyk would be a similar kind of guy. Making under a million, plays the right side (and forward aparently lol). Now offensively he isnt as good as Wideman, but he plays more minutes and is better defensively. His 36 games with Dallas last year showed on a decent team he can look like a legit NHLer.
Pysyk starts 3x as many shifts in the D zone as the 0 zone, has more takeaways than giveaways, and has been a decent bit unlucky so his value should be pretty darn low.

Curious to see who you think a lot of these guys replace in our lineup... Seems like most, if not all, are either not upgrades or not worth the cost to acquire as an upgrade.

Most of the names are depth names for a reason. If we can offload Ritchie, we’ll likely add a depth forward. As for the defense, again, we’re rumoured to possibly be looking to move Dermott/Holl. If that happens, we’ll be looking to add depth. Heck, even with our top 7, id still be looking to add a Pysyk type as additional depth.

Chara actually might bring some big value in the playoffs … I would consider bringing him in with minimal usage for the rest of the year to get him rested and healthy for the playoffs. Maybe he has legs for one last playoff push in him.

Especially if Muzzin continues to be banged up

If FLA and TB are the kind of teams in on Chychrun, then I want to win that bidding war even if it's a bit of an overpay.

Sandin, Knies, 1st rounder.

But if it's teams like NYR bidding I'm not so interested in winning that bidding war.

There is no amount of rest that will give Chara legs for the playoffs.

Until Spezza shows signs of life I'm 100% against adding these oldies to the lineup. Joe Thornton made some dumb plays last year that if removed, potentially sends us to the second round.

It's also addition by subtraction. Don't give Keefe anyone to over use. We're fine meeting our grandpa q--sorry on my phone this message got wrecked -- we're fine meeting our one grandpa quota on spezza.

Don't see Kadri returning to the Leafs in the offseason. He'll receive more lucrative offers elsewhere that will allow him to play a prominent enough role at centre.

can’t see dubas signing him considering the reason why he traded him in the first place
I’d be for it

I hope Nazem signs for 7x8m in montreal tbh.

he goes back to scoring 40pts a season on a sinking ship

You can definitely fit Severson in. He’d be an ideal addition to our blueline. New Jersey would probably want something pretty substantial in return however.
I’ve always been convince pk subban will be in our top 4 next year on a cheap deal

I’ve mentioned Matt Roy in here a couple times but it hasn’t gained traction. Defensive minute eating RHD with term. LA has RHD prospects ready to take over and Sean Walker can play 2RD minutes when he’s back from injury.

Would Ottawa sell Artem Zub? He gets top pairing usage, has really strong defensive impact (within the top 70-90 percentile according to The Athletic player cards) and signed for one more year at $2.5M. Would be a sneaky good target.

Little to no chance they get rid of him imo. He's only 26 so I expect them to try and re-sign him once his contract is up. Very good player though, would love him on Toronto

Understandable but it could be like the Goodrow/Coleman trades that Tampa made: trading for good players with cheap cap hits and some terms but giving up a lot to get them.

I agree, I'd be willing to deal something significant for him. He would be great as the second pair RD for us and would solidify the defensive core.

If there was even a rumour of him being available Dubas should be all over it. Though I would bet on Ottawa wanting to keep him
