What is Dubas going to say? Yeah, our goalies suck and we need to get one. That just ups the price. If anything Dubas is saying all the right things and not telling other GM's he is desperate for another goalie.

How could we seriously invest in a goaltender when there isn’t one available who could tip the scales?

It would be a massive gamble to try to find one this season

Basically you have to ride this out and see what happens. No elite goaltender is sitting out there waiting to be acquired.

Any interest in trading for Adam Larsson from Seattle? Really solid defensively, could help solidify a pairing with someone offensive like Rielly or Sandin. Cap might be a problem, but the fit seems great to me.

Basically what I’ve been saying for a couple weeks, at least regarding rentals. If he’s getting someone with term, that’s fine to me.

• Jones
• Wedgewood

Non-ufas that could potentially be available

• Reimer
• Vejmelka
• Varlamov

So overall, there are very limited options on the goalie front.

there’s no reason Toronto and the Isles couldn’t make a deal. In fact, they have since Lou got there

Maybe try to acquire....

Miller and Schenn from the Canucks and then Holtby from Dallas?

Wouldn’t be a bad TDL.

It solidifies our second line, adds depth to our backend and hopefully takes a little pressure off Campbell.

Something like...

Robertson + Kerfoot + Dermott + 1st + for Miller and Schenn

And

Mrazek + Holl for Holtby

Yup unless it's a goalie, no point. Team could play amazing but lose because of goaltending. Get a goalie first, and then see what you can do.

I almost feel like, if we are not getting an external option, we are looking at two options:

1) WSH in 2018 where we run with Grubauer (aka Mrazek) after Holtby (Campbell) sucked in the new year only to go back to Holtby down the stretch. Mrazek has been a lot better than his numbers, which is more than Campbell can say. Let him carry the ball for a bit and at the very least we are giving Campbell some rest.

2) STL in 2019 and PIT in 2016. Turn to Binnington/Murray (aka Woll or Kallgren) a chance when your incumbents both suck or are hurt.
