There's no disconnect. What worries me is Muzzin changing his mind a few games after the money is spent.
I think the disconnect here is that you believe the player decides.

He just had two serious concussions in a month. If the team doctor's don't feel comfortable rushing him back at the same pace you believe he will want to come back, he won't be coming back.

If they're going to make a move and spend the 5.6 million, he will know before it happens that there are no plans on him coming back for the regular season. All of these hypotheticals would be discussed and agreed upon before a move is made. Muzzin wouldn't be left in the dark about what the Leafs think. The Leafs wouldn't be in the dark about what Muzzin thinks. These things would be discussed at length before they decide if they're going to do it or not.

Yep. I don't think it'll be the last time we're trading with Arizona in the near future.

why would both these trades trade these long term controllable assets for our garbage ?

Very well. I'll just trust that they do everything right.

stop knitpicking , sure 1 good asset . let me put it this way ......... would you accept those trades from the other teams perspective ??
Holl, Robertson and a 2nd isn’t a bad deal for Chicago. I’d be willing to even make that 2nd into a 1st if need be and at that point yes I’d probably take that package for Murphy.

Texier, I’m not sure what it would cost to acquire him. Dermott +.

Just be careful

How many of you wanted to seen marner out after last playoff or beggining of the season? How many of you want to see marner leaving now?

How many of you wanted to see nylander gone like 3 years ago vs how many right now.

How many wanted kerfoot being trade ladt season? How many was happy to get kerfoot on playoff

How many of you wanted to see holl left like a week ago? How many want to see holl leaving right now ?

Right now its campbell and muzzin. Good chance campbell find his game back and come back like the campbell we saw since hes in toronto. And if muzzin come back like the muzzin we saw last playoff.

Every player having up and down, thats hockey. Sometime you just trying to so too much but he reality you dont have to...start to overthinking unstead of playing instintively.
That’s every fan base in any sports.

I would be shocked if he came back.
There are 2 months left. He has 2 concussions back to back in a month. The first one he was out for a month. The second he went completely out.

I don’t see how any reasonable person could let him. Back Well before the playoffs. Heck playoffs is a stretch

Don’t be surprised if you see Varlamov’s name pop up if the speculation of Fleury wanting to stay in Chicago is true.

Tyler Bertuzzi would look good on Tavares' wing.

Dubas was rumoured to be interested in him before we signed Ritchie. Wonder if he'll re-visit this trade with Yzerman. We have the cap space to absorb his contract with the Muzzin injury and he also has another year left on his contract after this season.

Since vaccines mandates are being dropped in Ontario, getting Bertuzzi in a Leafs uni shouldn't be an issue.

No way Yzerman trades him and if he does, I’m sure Detroit will win that trade by a landslide.

I don't think it's likely that Dubas is going to go for a guy with allegations of domestic violence and kidnapping, who also happens to be a Putin supporter and cheered on him annexing Crimea. I could be wrong, but he does seem to take PR extremely seriously

He was absolved and actually had damages paid to him as it was admitted to be made up.

As for the T-shirt he wore 8 years ago, yeah, a shit opinion, but want to know how many players were and still are Trump supporters? We likely have a few of them and a few “freedom” supporters on our squad too.

Yeah supporting kids in a bouncy castle downtown is the same thing as supporting shelling civilians, makes sense.

Maybe so. I have no idea. My worry is Muzzin changing his mind to agree to sit out after the money is spent. Can he file a grievance with the Players Association or something?
Once he has been out the 24 days, 10 games he can come back if he feels well enough and the doctors clear him.
You are correct that it could be a worry.

I think he would have been a good fit. Leafs have had interest in Bertuzzi for a long time. There was a lot of rumblings last off-season with the Leafs and Bertuzzi but that probably changed fast when he refused to get vaccinated. So that seems like something the Leafs moved on from, even with mandates and restrictions being lifted.
