If that's the cost and you can make the cap work you do it right away. For a rental? My guess is a B+ prospect. An SDA/Abramov type.
Everyone all bent out of shape because they don't like daddy need to relax.

On 590 this morning, ex-goalie, Steve Valiquette, believes that Campbell and Mrazek are fine.....backups. He's not sold on Campbell as a starter. Kevin Woodley said the same thing yesterday.
Valiquette, who works for the Rangers, believes that Georgiev has starter potential and that the Leafs should try and trade for him. He thinks the Rangers would want Campbell in return.
Just sharin'
I know. He hasn't been good at all. That said, Valiquette still thinks he has starter potential. Not sure.Georgiev has been terrible.
He played 2-3 really good games against the Leafs over the last 3 years and some Leafs fans (not saying you) think he is really good.
Well, supposedly Valiquette is a Leafs fan though. You mean to tell me that the guy who works for the Rangers is hyping up a mediocre goalie who the Rangers have been trying to trade for 2 years?
Lindholm or Miller are the only two rumoured players available I give a first for.
chychrun too
I would agree. I would also throw in Brandon Hagel as someone they could use the 1st on. He's locked in for 2 more years after this one at 1.5M. He's still 23 and an RFA at the end of the deal.If Dubas is looking at trading our 1st this year, then the only deal I'm looking at is for either Chychrun or JT Miller. There's 0 way I'm trading our 1st again for a rental, I don't care how good they are. Both Chychrun and Miller are locked in for extra years, and either one would significantly improve our team.
Is our 1st rounder even appealing to rebuilding teams if it's their young core players being traded away? Our pick will be high 20s up to 32. That's not very attractive for young players with term. The "+" will have to be pretty significant from us.
Hopefully we get some asking price updates soon.
I dont think he works for the Ramgers, he just covers them. You mean to tell me that the guy who works for the Rangers is hyping up a mediocre goalie who the Rangers have been trying to trade for 2 years?
Negative value like thicc nicc had? This is such an overstated issue around the league. Guys don’t become unreadable because of a less than ideal half season. At this point Muzzin has negative value so it's going to take a good pick, prospect or player to get rid of him. Lindholm is worth a lot even as a rental with a chance to extend him. Lindholm is worth at least a 1st as a rental.
He can regain his market value with a strong string of games but it doesn’t change the fact in the moment with his health concerns we would be selling low and with those questions marks about his play and health at his cap hit and age he doesn’t have value at this present time. If you don’t want to sell low that’s another story.Negative value like thicc nicc had? This is such an overstated issue around the league. Selling low? Possible to probable. Having to attach assets to “dump”? Unlikely to improbable. He can regain his market value with a strong string of games but it doesn’t change the fact in the moment with his health concerns we would be selling low and with those questions marks about his play and health at his cap hit and age he doesn’t have value at this present time. Muzzin has negative value the same way Mark Stone does.He can regain his market value with a strong string of games but it doesn’t change the fact in the moment with his health concerns we would be selling low and with those questions marks about his play and health at his cap hit and age he doesn’t have value at this present time. I have flip flopped a lot recently.
I think I'm leaning towards just adding a forward by the deadline the more this team plays without Muzzin. I have flip flopped a lot recently but I think I'm locked in. Only way I can flip back to wanting a defenseman is if Muzzin is for sure out for the season and playoffs. I believe in Dermott and Sandin though.
Most people would know I'm not the biggest advocate of hits over skill but the team could probably use someone that plays heavy or at least can really play with intensity in top 6 minutes. Who can that be? Now that's a tough one. I think they do have a hole on the LW to add someone really really good either way.
and kase, and kampf who have never even played a post season game for us. dude is smoking the good stuff lolHis name sticks out like a sore thumb.
And how has Robertson shown what he does or doesn't have? Or Lyubushkin for that matter.
If you're to believe Canuck fans that offer won't be anywhere close for Schenn. To Toronto: Travis Dermott + Mikhail Abramov
To Columbus: Alexandre Texier + 6th Rounder
To Toronto: Luke Schenn
To Vancouver: CBJ 6th Rounder
The more I think about it, Texier would probably fit really nicely alongside Tavares and Nylander. Doesn’t break the bank in order to acquire him either.
Then I wouldn’t want him. I wouldn’t pay anything higher than a 5th for a 7th dman.If you're to believe Canuck fans that offer won't be anywhere close for Schenn.
Hopefully they plan on re-signing Lyubushkin. He’s been fantastic on the third pair providing some much needed physicality and stability on the backend.I think it makes sense to shield Holl from trade at the deadline and to keep him as depth over keeping Dermott. I think Dermott is who should move to make room for the new defenseman addition.
In the event they can't re-sign the new defender and/or Lyubushkin or don't want to re-sign them, it would make sense to hang on to Holl, he can play in the top-4, has good size and his contract is movable in the off-season if need be for positive value. He would bring great depth in the playoffs, even if he is the #8 defenseman by that time.
