Only bad players that no one could possibly want get traded. Unless they're traded here obviously.
DeBrusk is a spoiled rat. He plays a more limited position and would not be able to play across the lineup and up and down it like Kerfoot does (and very well) here. No thanks to DeBrusk.
Also FWIW they both record around the same number of hits per game. I don't see "bigger, stronger, gritter" from jakey debrusk.
Bennett's cap hit was next to nothing though, Debrusk is just too rich on the cap. I don't see Boston trading him within division unless it's an overpay and there are too many question marks surrounding the player to warrant a high price.
Debrusk is a guy we should pursue only if he isn't qualified similar to Ritchie.
Why are people willing to trade Kerfoot in order to acquire DeBrusk? Makes no sense…
Anthony Angelo? Good AHL numbers, hasnt really got a chance in Pitsburgh. Makes 750k in the minors. He is 6'4, plays C, can PK ans is only 25.I tried to look at capfriendly for targets, but I wonder if the Leafs could try to get another Clifford-esque acquisition but for a center. Someone that is expensive for the AHL and might want a fresh start or something. I think the Marlies and the depth could use someone in between the NHL and the AHL.
It'll be VERY good for Abramov and SDA to get top AHL minutes though for sure.

Maybe we don’t need to make any changesI believe it's set to be 1m per season for the next few years. Revenue is coming in again, and new sources of revenue have been added, but because of Covid, there's something like a 1 billion dollar discrepancy to be paid off before we see significant cap increases again.
That would be a terrible move on the Leafs part, and you risk him asking for a trade..I think the move now is to send Liljergren down and keep the defensive depth when everyone comes back healthy
The guy wants out and will be moved once Marchand is back. I'm betting with a change of scenery, he will return to the player that scored 20+ goals.
May come to that. That would be a mistake.I think the move now is to send Liljergren down and keep the defensive depth when everyone comes back healthy

There's a video of EK pointing a gun at his ex-gf circulating on twitter. Yes, there's been tons of psychos in NHL history (and there may be one or two in the team), but why would you willingly make this sort of acquisition when all of Kane's dirty laundry is not only out in the open, but the player himself isn't doing so much as to acknowledge that it exists? So I'm not for one or the other, in fact I don't want either, but people saying no to Kane because of off ice antics and bad locker room guy but Miller isn't? He's literally one of the 2 guys fighting and causing a rift in the Vancouver locker room right now. This team has insane chemistry right now. I don't think any major changes will happen. Maybe a couple of depth moves. Realistically what will Miller do? Help us win game 2 by a score of 4 to 1 instead of 3 to 1? And possibly be invisible for the rest of the playoffs? To me that's not worth a 1st, top prospect, roster player and possibly another pick or prospect.
Our options are seriously limited
The last thing I want to do is send down Liljegren but I'm also extremely unkeen on making a desperation trade just to open up cap space
Everybody is playing bloody well right now, it's a real conundrum![]()
Whoever the hell gets in, doesn't want an off night or 2, or else they sit.
Inevitably someone will be traded as Friedman I believe stated Holl or Dermott are available.
This is the best run of results we've seen for years, nobody deserves to come out right now
I don't think that's a great idea, one backend injury and we've got a serious problem if we do that
Can't disagree there. I think at some point they're going to want to see what they have in Kral, Rubins and Duszak - the ladder 2 especially. That being said they're all unproven and by no means comforting spares, whereas we're clearly looking good with our current 7.
We also have Mikhayev and Mrazek on the horizon, the cap is going to demand a trade.
I guess Engvall is the one drawing the short straw...or maybe grant Mikhayev his wish?
If happily keep all 3 of those guys with the Marlies for the rest of this season, I like them but I don't think they have outgrown the AHL like Liljegren and Sandin had
I don't want to mess with the chemistry, if Mikhayev isn't prepared to play his ass off on the Kampf line he should go, Engvall is useful so I'm not keen on giving him away for nothing
I think Duszak you kinda want to reward for making improvements in his game and producing offensively still. I'd prefer to have a heathy defense core though for sure.
I think Mikhayev will have the wheels but the hands...were questionable while healthy, not sure rust is gonna help him either. He should consider a shorter stick for better shooting, it's just abnormally long. Big gap between 1st, 2nd and our 7th rounders. Maybe one of Mikhayev or Engvall brings in something between a 3rd-5th which helps that a bit. Our scouting team seems to be doing a good job of identifying talent, would like to give them picks to work with.
Duszak is a good PP QB and offensively gifted but he's still a bit squirrelly defensively, you'd need to shelter the hell out of him 5v5
Ideally you keep both guys until the end of the season, that way we don't need to trade for "depth"
We can swing our resources towards something really beneficial, like a top 4D or a top 6LW
