The PP can and will cool but Addison is still going to be looking at 40+ points if he stays healthy and on PP1 by nothing more than that unit playing 1:30+min of each PP and being flanked by the likes of Kaprizov, Boldy, and Zuccarello. I am certain the team will try to get him on bridge based on their track record but I can’t imagine it’s in the $2m range if he’s up over 40pts on the season. And especially not if he’s reaching the 60’s.

Here's my current wishlist order for rental centers (just players not what it would cost):
1. Larkin
2. Horvat
3. Toews (pure rental)
4. Money (pure rental)

Larkin will probably cost too much to acquire/re-sign (I still think he re-signs in DET). Horvat could be re-signed for a reasonable (relatively) price.

Yeah, the Larkin dream can die. Yzerman has built a young core through the draft just like he did in Tampa. Larkin, Seider, Raymond, Bertuzzi, Soderblom. Some upcoming gem prospects with Edvinsson, Berggren, Wallinder, Cossa, and most recently Kasper.

They’re poised to establish themselves as of the best young teams in the Eastern Conference for years.

It'll be a dream for me until he's re-signed. I'm surprised Yzerman hasn't gotten it done yet. Regardless, I don't think GMBG would pay the trade price it would cost to get Larkin.

Not that we should or could be in on him, but I wonder what's going to happen with O'Reilly. Going to turn 32 this year, and has had a terrible start.

His play style is what GMBG wants. His attitude (COL and BUF both dumped him for reasons) doesn't jive with something GMBG would want.

The guy can win a faceoff. I’d be all in.

It’s BBB not GMBG.

Honestly, don't think we are going to get alot of value from Dumba. As much as I do like him as a player and a Wild teammate, he's an $2.5 mil overpaid expiring UFA on a horribly down year. But all that said, he's still a right handed dman veteran NHLer that has a shot and some team might bite.

In terms of value, I think we'll get at best a high 2nd + 3rd round pick. A Calen Addison-like prospect when we first got him from the Zucker trade plus a 3rd or 4th.

Seeing as he's reportedly been on the block a handful of times and hasn't been moved by now, I've no doubt you're correct. I'd go so far as to bet his value has dropped enough that a 3rd is at best what they get for him. If they somehow finagle a 2nd out of him, I'll be thrilled.

If all they can get for Dumba is a 3rd, then they'll keep him for the rest of the season, unless they are WAY further back in the standing than i think they are going to be.

You sure? I'm not a Guerin basher, but at the same time, I can't say I trust him enough not to take a deal for simply a 3rd. I'd like to think he wouldn't, but he's made some head scratchers previously.

My point is that it doesn't matter all that much, one way or another, if it's for only a 3rd. Even a 2nd is really not a big deal, unless you are like Fletcher and make a habit of trading away 2nd's.

A contender would gladly pony up a 3rd for Dumba at the TDL, when cap is little to no consideration. I would guess that he gets a 2nd, if we are willing to retain (which we should be).

Sounds like Horvat will be moved before Christmas. We probably get outbid pretty easily given our appetite to win now is smaller than a team like Colorado.

Horvat at a $2.75M cap hit would have a lot of bidders, even without an extension in place. We probably shouldn't be one of them. If he hits UFA, by all means take a shot, but I don't want to have to outbid half the league.

Fire sale. Full tank for the future. New ownership wouldnt hurt neither. This organization has always been average nhl franchise. The minnesota fans dont seem to mind average.

How has ownership been a problem?
Ownership could be perceived as a problem if one thinks the best way out of this mediocrity is a real rebuild, and ownership keeps hiring GM's whose plans consist of not doing a real rebuild.

Count me in the group that likes having an owner that wants to win. We are not going to tank for a top 5 pick for at least the next 4 years unless Kaprizov is out for over half a season.

It's just absolutely horrendous timing.

We'd actually have a decent excuse to "tank" (the buyouts) and the 3 years that we would be tanking apparently has some phenomenal talent at the top of the draft (Bedard, Michkov, Eiserman, Hagens). But just our f***ing luck that those 3 years also happen to coincide with the most talented player in franchise history's prime.

You really couldn't draw it up any worse if you tried.
