Hoping we use this cap space to target a middle six forward in the 3-4M range & then flip Kulikov to a team that missed out on a defenseman.

I wouldn't mind bringing Nino back, I always liked him, but not for what he'll probably get on the open market.

No clue what any of these guys will get, but wouldn’t mind them on the roster if the numbers work and it’s short-term:

Nino, Kase, Palat, Kessel, Smith, Stromes, Rodrigues, Milano

Take out Kase (just completely injury prone, not worth it to me) and Kessel (not good, floater) and I wouldn't mind anyone else if the money works.

It's boring, but I really don't mind sitting out UFA Day.

It's fun to have new players to look forward to, but I agree, we don't really need any of them and we probably can't afford most of them.

I don’t mind it on Day 1, but if all we sign is a $1M player then the Talbot trade was unnecessary. This team needs to add somebody better than Gaudreau to the Rossi/Boldy line.

Tyson Jost is your man.

Kaprizov-Hartman-Zuccarello
Greenway-Eriksson Ek-Foligno
Jost-Rossi-Boldy
Dewar-Gaudreau-Duhaime

Tyson Jost has the offensive chops to keep up with those two, Kaprizov is still gonna draw the opponents tough matchups while Eriksson Ek can pick up the other teams top line. Boldy line should be able to match against the lower half of the lineup, shouldn't be too much pressure on them.

So Boldy and 2 plugs? Seems like a flashback to the Fiala and 2 plug lines, just with a worse Fiala.

Well it's not like I was on board with trading Fiala

The real winner of Free Agent Frenzy is HFBoards, which stayed alive all day long. Plus I got my reply box back after whatever goofy DNS fallout was left over from the domain change.

There seems to be light traffic overall on the boards compared to past FA days.

Well expecting Rossi to be better than a plug in the NHL next season, when he wasn't better than NHL plugs (Rask and Dewar) sent to the AHL last year, doesn't make much sense to me.

Rossi should surpass plug quality player. I just don't see it happening next season.

Baddock is fine as a tough guy.

Fogarty made me feel really old (which TBF, i was, in hockey years) about ten years ago during a couple of shinny games. Thought he might be a good middle sixer in the NHL, but just couldn't quite make it happen. Good size, and shot. At the HS level he had loads of skill, but that doesn't always translate, of course.
I can see him getting the odd call up. He's experienced, and not tiny. You don't want to call up Rossi to play on the 4th line for more than a game or two.

I have no idea how one would gauge this without access to the backend. Even the post counts won't tell you much about how frequently people are F5'ing.
With teams like the Leafs and Habs not making any big moves - and not expected to - that probably drove down the traffic quite a bit as well.

I'm just looking at the amount of pages per signing. None have passed 20 pages and only a handful have passed 10 pages.

MTL, EDM, and TOR being very quiet so far I think help the stability of the site.
