Completely agree. With a deep UFA group, you’d think the abundance of supply would push prices down. Seems like GMs are expecting a much higher cap going forward.

If there is a deep UFA group it means lots of teams have holes to fill. The supply/demand stays at about the same almost every offseason.

I feel like 5 for Campbell/Kuemper is fairly reasonable for each.

I'm looking at guys like Mikheyev, Cernak, Chiarot, Cirelli, Copp, Kulak, Vatrano. They're not all necessarily big contracts, just bigger than I would give those players. I guess that's UFA though. Makes me glad we don't have the cap space, I don't want to find out what a Guerin UFA contract looks like.

WSOP or you live there?

I don't know what WSOP means, I was making a joke about the temperature in Phoenix.

Oh just Googled, yeah I'm in Phoenix not LV, same climate though.

Very happy that we didn't give Deslauriers his deal.

I haven't seen the official term yet, but also just not interested in signing that player in general.

E: If 1.9x4 is the actual term, that's especially ugly.

Good point. Still feels like these contracts are abnormally inflated

Did Fletcher lose his mind after being fired or what?
I know. I thought Fletcher was a decent GM here. He overpaid for rentals but most of his deals and signings were in the realm of reasonable. Every move he makes for the Flyers is completely illogical though.

There haven't been the high priced UFA deals yet this year. Giroux is the only one over $6m so far.

The TB deals have all been RFAs that still have a year left on their current contracts. 3 straight Cup runs and they are getting a bump because of that.

Most exciting thing is the possibility of Tkachuk, Dubois, Puljujarvi (less so), Laine, other RFAs getting moved. Wild may well be done for the month. So much depends on how Rossi looks in camp. I'm inclined to trust the board scouts who think he needs more AHL time but that might not be Billy's plan.

Gaudreau
Klingberg
Kadri
Nino
R. Strome
D. Strome

Any other "big" names still out there?

I don't think Nino and the Strome brothers are big names. Good players yes, but they are less than $6m/yr players.

Outside for Gaudreau, trades will be bigger news imo.

Wild signed Andrej Sustr apparently, wonder where his game went? Only 31 and used to be a top 4 for some very good lighting teams, but has bounced around the AHL/NHL/KHL last few years.

No word on one/two way, but I assume two way.

E: Russo just tweated 750k/400k for the Sustr deal. Spending big money in Iowa between him and Petan.
