This likely means some extended tryouts for the young guys this year, might have two extra rookies getting opening day ice time if they earn it. Should make for an exciting training camp.
Would assume Beckman jumps all over this opportunity while Addison should easily walk into the D spot.

Trade Talbot, sign Semyon from Washington who was just released

Does anyone think certain players were playing with more serious injury that we were aware of? If so, shouldn't the trainer have stepped in and say no?

Malkin testing free agency. Maybe Guerin can convince him to sign for $1MM per under the premise he is getting the gang back together.

There’s obviously some huge grey areas that fans will never know since it concerns players personal medical files, but generally NHL players will do anything that they can to stay in and play in the playoffs. Unless the injury can cause permanent damage, they generally let them play if it is only a pain management type of injury. Numerous players every year get off season surgery after playoffs.

Some probably were. The players are all adults and can mostly make their own decisions about their health and wellness. Trainers really can't do much, they aren't doctors.

It's just weird that greenway and one other wild player are missing the beginning of season because of what I guess one could deem serious injury?

Depends. It could be there was a chance for the injury to heal without surgery and they elected that option first. The injury didn't heal (entirely) and surgery was the next option.

Depends on the injury and what the corrective surgery recovery and rehab schedule. If it's something like a torn muscle surgery, it's not a serious thing, but it'll take a long time to heal.

Poolparty projected contracts.

The $3.3 x 2 could work for MN. It would add $366k in cap space. Just enough for McItyre is the backup and an ELC to fill out the roster.

Anyone here want him?
If it could work money wise, absolutely.

$1m base salary on a one year deal, another 1m in bonuses for every 20 games, another 1m for every 20 points.(bonuses can roll over)

Screw 2023/2024....

In greenways role or are we promoting Duhaime/Dewar to that spot and someone to 4th line?
Who knows? Both Rau and Shaw were significantly tougher than Beckman last year, even though he is 6" taller than them. IMO, Beckman has to come back much stronger this fall, and figure out how get his shot off more effectively.
Don't mean to be negative.... I think he still has a shot to be a NHL player.

Nothing wrong with constructive criticism I just want none of Rau in the nhl.

On another note, same Twitter account says kraken want Kane and toews. That could make an interesting team.

Hate to say it but Kessel slots in nicely across from Boldy with Rossi or Gaudreau at C. He’d definitely replace about 70% of Fiala’s production and it’d be nice to have a legitimate RHS on the PP.

For sure, it's Beckmans first pro season. It's fair to start worrying about 2.5nd AHL in season.
