Any opinions on trying to get Colin White on a cheap ($1m or less) 1 year prove it deal?

Might as well. You can never have too many bottom six forwards on a Guerin roster.
Weird take considering the past two years have had the most talented forward depth that the Wild have ever had. Every single forward on the team rated 3rd line caliber or higher.

It's not that weird of a take when you actually look at which top six forwards Guerin is responsible for bringing here. His entire tenure has been spent accumulating bottom of the lineup guys (often slotting them into the top of the lineup), and his biggest move to date has been trading a 25 year old that just had the second best season in franchise history for a defensive defenseman.

GMBG's FWD additions to the team have been: MarJo, Bonino, Bjugstad, D-Lo, and Freddy G. The rest of the FWDs were already on the team or in the system.

I still give him 1/2 points for Hartman and Foligno. Could've easily traded them away, though they're also bottom 6 guys so they don't really change anything.

Yes. Not sure Guerin will though

I don't think GMBG will look very hard at White.

I also don't think White will look very hard at MN as the place to try and get his career going again. I think he ends up going home to BOS on a cheap deal.

If Kaprizov wasn’t so freaking good and loveable, I’d say the smart play is to trade him, JEE, Brodin, Spurgeon etc for maximum value in futures. Secure a high pick in the ‘23 draft and come out of the end of the buyouts with a farm system that would make LA’s current system look like child’s play.

So you want to be the 2012 Sabres?

So, we get our first legit superstar. and we should trade him, so we can tank, so maybe we can get a superstar? :whaaa?:

Was being facetious. It’s aggravating that we finally get a superstar and then during his 25-28 YOA seasons we are playing with 15% less salary than everyone else.

If a team was ever to tank it would be now while facing the buyout penalties and while Colorado is dominant and with the ‘23 class coming up.

It is what it is, we gotta suck it up and deal with it.

Wonder what Kessels contract is gonna look like.

Not sure I'd be completely opposed to uniting the Thrills and seeing if Kessel can absorb some of what we lost with Fiala. Play him with Boldy and Rossi at evens, and trigger man on the PP with Zuccerello and Kaprizov.

Still had 50+ points in AZs terrible offense(got a point on 1/4th of their goals) while shooting a career low 4.5%. No way that repeats.
Didn't Kessel supposedly veto a trade here when he was with the Penguins? And chose AZ instead? I doubt he's signing here

He did. But it was because he didn't like the makeup of the team at the team according to published reports. He was concerned on who could get him the puck. This was pre Fiala breakout, pre Zuccerello signing, and pre Kaprizov and pre BG. Not out of the question he'd change his mind.

He had a long history with AZ's coach at the time.

Guerin is gonna go hard after Blackwood to give them a 1A/1B tandem this year as well as be the starter until Wallstedt is ready in a few years.
