How do people feel about giving Kaprizov the same deal as Pastrnak when the time comes? I have it as the floor of what it would need to be.

I'd do it. At least for his next deal, I'm not sure there are any demands or prices I wouldn't agree to, as long as the term is for more than 5 years.

My main concern would be that Pastrnak signs that deal at 26 while Kaprizov signs it at 29. I have very little problem paying him $11.25m (or the 2026 equivalent relative to the cap) until he's in his early 30s, but past 33 or so.... could get hairy.

Then again, he's kind of a mutant so maybe he's a 100 pt player until he's 40. I dunno.

Yeah, I was trying to balance out the age at signing with the hypothetical cap increases before the summer of 2025. Seemed like it would end up close to the same place.

He’ll get more, and I’ll probably not be a huge fan of it. But if he leaves, I’ll be even more upset. Lose lose

He definitely isn’t injury prone nor does he rely on outright speed. I’d say he’s as safe a bet as any to be productive well past what’s considered typical prime years. If he wants to stay and retire the greatest player this franchise has ever seen I say give him the farm.

Domi has been playing well lately , could try him as 1C if Chicago is willing to take the equivalent of a 2nd. I’d offer the 4th we got on that retention deal and a b tier prospect.

I have a feeling the wild are around domi. Is he playing center for the hawks? Just stat watching but he’s having a great year. I mean:

Kaprizov-Hartman-Zuccarello
Boldy-Domi-Mojo/Nyquist
Greef
Mojo/Nyquist-Gaudreau-Reaves

Is a much better lineup imo, but at what cost? Feels like a 2nd rounder to me, which I’m not opposed to given where the strength of our pool lies. Just don’t know if Domj is the guy you give it up for.

Yeah, if there was ever a Wild player to just throw money at, Kaprizov is it.

Would Love Domi, but sounds like according to Russo the Wild are not fans of his. If Guerin isnt a fan youd think he could stomach him for rest of the season casue its a position of need and an upgrade to roster based on his production this year.

I think the kid just loves the game. He checks every single box. I get angry thinking about all the reasons this franchise will give him to leave.

The way Russo talks about that seems like it’s more soeculation than anything.

Much prefer Domi at 1C and Ek at 2c

Kap Domi Zucc
Boldy Ek Nyquist
Marjo Gudreau Hart
Duhaime Dewer Shaw/Reaves

Foligno and Greener out for picks

Why fix what isn’t broken in the top line though?

I think it is broken , domi is an upgrade on Hartman and I much prefer Hartman playing right wing further down the line
Maybe it will be broken down the line, but that group has been a bright spot lately. I don’t know that Domi is better than Hartman, either. We’ll see.

I can’t fathom why Guerin would get Nyquist/Johansson if he was also going to go after Domi.

Right now he does, sure. Re-upping him for 8 years when he is 29yo is less than ideal. Even the greatest usually decline once they hit their late 20’s, nvm their 30’s.

I’m all for waiting to see how things turn out. Sure wish that he had come over a couple of years earlier. He would’ve been more than ready enough, as it turns out.

trading Greenway seems like an inevitability. I wouldn’t be surprised if they just give him away at this point.
