Someone always gets underserved in a 3-way. Guess it's us this time.Well that certainly takes the excitement out of it

$500k when we were set to have $16M at the trade deadline. Hardly an issue.I really don't think we got underserved. We lost like 500k in cap space and a prospect we apparently didn't value at all.
where are you getting the 16M at the TD from according to CapFriendly$500k when we were set to have $16M at the trade deadline. Hardly an issue.
It accrues daily, so since the Wild traded for some of O'Reilly's cap hit the number is now lower.where are you getting the 16M st the TD from according to CF
CURRENT CAP SPACE: $9,823,493
DEADLINE CAP SPACE: $12,864,098
Yeah, I have a hard time seeing it, but teams aren’t quite desperate yet.I would really like to have an extra 1st in this draft but I'm not sure how we get it. Dumba+Greenway? Foligno retained? Hartman? I'm not sure any of that gets it done.

Somehow a washed ROR got 1st+2nd+3rdYeah, I have a hard time seeing it, but teams aren’t quite desperate yet.
How attached are you to Boldy or Kap? One of them will get you a 1st...
They always leave me satisfied and smiling.Someone always gets underserved in a 3-way. Guess it's us this time.
What we pay in salaries accrues daily. Since we were under the cap, we have accrued more cap space every day. That means the amount of salary we can add goes up as the season goes on. There are only 27 games left, which is like 33% of the season. So the cap hit for any player really only has a 33% effect on our cap numbers because we weren't paying their salary all season.I guess I just don't understand the cap system at all.
If you go to capfriendly and just add cap hits for forwards+defense+goalies+deadcap the cap hit is $78,951,088 + O'Reilly's 1,875,000 = 80,826,088 and the salary cap is 82,500,000.
That should mean 1,673,912 in cap space but for some reason all of this turns into 16 million in cap space and only $557,000,000 in cap hit for O'Reilly?
The Chris Simon trade was dumb.Still analyzing, but this is like the dumbest trade ever for the Wild? I don't see the point.
Can Chicago not retain themselves?I think we can rob someone of a 2nd/3rd round pick for retaining on Toews/Kane, maybe both. Sounds like we can retain on up to three contracts.
Chicago and STL are now rebuilding but we refuse to do so..So we help STL acquire another 2023 first round pick and we get to maybe draft an AHL'er in 2 years for our trouble?
Simple. They weren't going to sign Pillar, so instead of losing him for nothing we get a 4th round pick.Still analyzing, but this is like the dumbest trade ever for the Wild? I don't see the point.

They can retain half, making Toews and Kane each $5.25M in cap. If we retain another 50%, that brings each down to $2.625M in cap hit. Much more manageable for contenders to add to their roster. And we should be paid pretty nicely… emphasis on shouldCan Chicago not retain themselves?
