Rossi is already a bust. He was way over hyped for some reason.

It's what the Canucks wanted:Not impossible for the Islanders to re-sign him. Interesting.
Surely, you can't be serious. Are you serious?
Might as well go out on the street and ask rand
Chicago is hardly the ideal NHL franchise. Have you been living under a rock for the last 5 years?It just feels so horrible to be vindicated year after year after year for being down on every single MN sport team. We are cursed and our teams are absolute trash. I just feel bad for guys like Ek or Kap. Players that would thrive and flourish and wins cups for markets like LA or Chi or NYR
That poster wants us to be just like Chicago and full tank.Chicago is hardly the ideal NHL franchise. Have you been living under a rock for the last 5 years?
I would argue their success came more from quality depth and a better defense.Chicago also won 3 Cups in the last 13 years and we've won 0 in our existence.
We have one top 4 pairing next year, and two or three bottom pairings. People wanting a surprise tank may be pleasantly surprised next year should, god forbid, Kaprizov be unable to play for a sustained period of time.I would argue their success came more from quality depth and a better defense.
Kane = Kaprizov
Toews > Eriksson Ek
Boldy = Sharp
Hossa = ????
Bickell = Foligno
Keith = ????
Seabrook = ???? (Closest we’ve got is Middleton LMAO)
Hjalmarsson = Brodin
Oduya < Dumba
Leddy > Merrill or Addison
Crawford > MAF/Gus
The defensive prospects can’t come soon enough. Half of our defense is a liability on one end of the ice (offense and defensive sides)
I don’t know how we would manage to get a top 10 pick. It was a struggle to get one back when Fiala was basically our only good forward and they were trending hard towards winning when the league shut down. Now we have three really good forwards.Should you tear down a good playoff team for the sake of "tanking"? Probably not.
If you're team that is struggling to be better than 20th best in the league, might it be better for you see a couple turns at the top of the draft? Probably.
There's room in between these two things, which is probably where we sit, that can go either way.
I was talking a bit more theoretical, not about our exact current situation, but 3 good forwards can become 1 good forward in a matter of a couple years without much imagination.I don’t know how we would manage to get a top 10 pick. While I agree, I also think that something needs to be done to let our LD prospects get a shot at the NHL level. Ideally, I’d trade Merrill and Goligoski. I don’t like the idea of trading Kap or Boldy. Honestly, I'd rather overcook our prospects than risk undercooking them. I can't say I've watched any Iowa games this year, but from the rumblings I've heard from those who have, the young defensemen are currently just ok, and getting better. That doesn't sound like they're ready yet to me, but if you've got more insight on them I'll defer to your judgement.While I agree, I also think that something needs to be done to let our LD prospects get a shot at the NHL level. Middleton-Spurgeon
Brodin-Faber
Hunt-Addison
Inject some young players into the lineup. It’s possible O’Rourke would be a better fit alongside Addison.
Also, Brodin and Spurgeon both have a history of missing a chunk of games due to injury.
I, personally, think that Hunt is ready for 3rd pair duties. Maybe not so in terms of covering up any mistakes made by Addison, but the numbers say that even Brodin wasn’t so great at that either.Honestly, I'd rather overcook our prospects than risk undercooking them. If they're just not ready yet, I'd rather just throw a depth defenseman like Merrill out there, immediate results be damned.
I'm not super keen on trading Kaprizov either, but it might end up being out of our hands. Decision has to be made 2 summers from now and by then Zuccarello will either be gone or 38 years old.I don’t like the idea of trading Kap or Boldy. I get why they have Kap-Zucc, Boldy, and Eriksson Ek all on separate lines. Trying so hard to create matchup issues. But sometimes you need to put Draisaitl between McDavid-Kane, you know?
I used to get the sense that we is the type of guy who would leave for the most money possible and a big city. Now, I feel like he really likes it here. It will probably come down to team outlook at the time, but it wouldn’t surprise me if he wants to stayI'm not super keen on trading Kaprizov either, but it might end up being out of our hands. I feel pretty good about Kaprizov re-signing. He’s going to get what he wants in AAV and be worth it.I'm not super keen on trading Kaprizov either, but it might end up being out of our hands. Decision has to be made 2 summers from now and by then Zuccarello will either be gone or 38 years old.
Haight/Lorenz/Bankier have a LONG, LONG ways to go before we can even say they will be pushing for spots on the NHL roster.I feel pretty good about Kaprizov re-signing. He’s going to get what he wants in AAV and be worth it.
By then, hopefully Rossi/Yurov/Ohgren/Khusnutdinov/Haight/Lorenz/Bankier will be pushing for/earned spots on the NHL roster.
As someone who has watched a lot of Iowa, I would agree that the prospect D need more time. None of them are forces offensively, but are ok or better with the puck- all three project to be better than Middleton and Merrill with the puck. Defensively, they are doing between average and slightly above average, depending on who you are talking about. I do like ROR’s man coverage in the D zone, but just last night he got beaten on a play that I would have liked to see him handle, though it wasn’t all his fault.Honestly, I'd rather overcook our prospects than risk undercooking them. You never know. It’s going into the 25/26 season. Haight/Lorenz will be 21/22 and Bankier will be 22/23. That’s right around the age that a lot of prospects start pushing for NHL spots.Is anyone
