But it's seravelli and he hasn't been right about anything. Seravelli appears to be the new Eklund

Don't know about that, looking through his Twitter timeline he's got a lot of stuff right around the same time as the other insiders.

What does Edmonton have to offer to get Helle?

Helle, Stanley for Edmonton 1st 2024, Skinner, Bouchard, McLeod, Campbell (50% retained)

Basically Winnipeg buys out Campbell in a year or two... unless he excels in a defensive system

Extremely fat chance Helle fetches anything remotely close to Bouchard. Even fatter chance Edmonton wants to give him up.

I'm V intrigued what Helle goes for in a trade.
Kuemper, Schneider, Ryan Miller (tdl) are a few other higher end goalies to be dealt over the years. But with the cap pressures and new deal at 31, will be interesting.

Fun fact
The 1st in the Ryan Miller trade was used to select Jack Roslovic

Yeah goalies never really generated a whole lot on the trade market before the league wide cap crunch. It's even tougher now and with a UFA market that has a lot of interesting names I'm not so sure the market is super hungry for Helle right now.

Trading Scheifele is a difficult trade to navigate. You have to find another top 6 center, either by moving Scheifele or trying to find one in a Hellebuyck trade.

Vilardi and Perfetti as your top 6 centers doesn't get you in the playoffs.
If the org is truly hellbent on staying competitive instead of rebuilding (which IMO they should be rebuilding) then they might have to extend Scheifele assuming he's willing. Crater sized hole in the roster if both Scheif and PLD are gone. Can't imagine them getting a 1C from anywhere else and Scheif is the best we can do.

The spin on Newhook is hilarious... he's better for the Canadiens because he fits their age range - he's 'six months past his 23rd bday' while PLD is already 25!!! hahaha
Some Habs fans need more straws to grasp at.

Wonder if ANY of the ones that were so arrogant in their opinions have conceded anything (like they were soooooooooooooooooo wrong)??

i know lots get discussed about the UFA list

but this is the RFA list - we've already seen a few pending RFAs traded the past couple days in PLD, Vilardi, Colton and Newhook. Also Sam Steel is hitting UFA (unqualified)

I think anymore Jets trades might be left till the weekend if they even make another trade unless a team really wants either Scheifele or Helle tonight and wants to overpay. Chevy is exhausted from yesterday's trade.

You can't get a top 6 center in return. The most you can hope for a player that is still at the point where there is potential to develop into a top 6 center.

Then have a nap :sarcasm: But seriously a GM with the work he has to do has to be pushing hard every moment he can. The window for trades closes quickly after July 1st as cap space dries up. Now is the time most off season moves get made.

Chevy: not a known mover of things
Scheifele and Hellebuyck aren’t getting moved tonight (and Scheifele not at all), that’s your Tasteless Beaver hot take of the week. Instead, I think Chevy is actually going surprise us all by doing a do on UFA day.

Agreed, and with all the GM's physically in the same location it seems like a good time to get stuff done.

Chevy spoke about clearing out spots for young players to give them more opportunity and used Perfetti as an example of someone who will get more opportunity with Dubois being traded.
Then he was asked later in the media availability by Hustler/Andrew Paterson about clearing space to give opportunity to players like Chisholm or Heinola and Chevy didn't rule out the possibility :dunno:

Does that mean Cole is moving to center? Did he touch on that at all? Or was that in reaction to pp1.

I think it was more in a general ice time sense but probably could be interpreted that they're going to try him at C :dunno:
