Noodles and Siegel both annoy the hell outa me. But it's only once or twice a week. With noodles I can muscle through a stance/opinion that's cringe worthy. When siegel says something in a way I don't enjoy, I can't stand it and turn it off. I'm actually happy they switch with eachother and now and again heh.

The thing is Overdrive is about Sports and not the Leafs or hockey.
Noodles is brutal not only bc his anti-Leafs sentiments but mostly bc he is clueless about other sports. I hate to think that they don’t discuss what they would talk about before each shows, and the fact that Noodles didn’t even bother to prepare for the materials make me wonder why he is still on the panel if it not for his wife being the producer.

Not necessarily directed at you but I've often wondered why do people continually listen to things that they dislike so much?

Failculture/failnation, or something like that, runs wild these days. People instinctively like to complain.

Admittedly I don't get it. I only ever listen to music.

The odd time I do watch the pre-game I find there is nothing new or interesting ever said.
They basically discuss the same things we do here.

Noodles simply talks too much. He takes 5 minutes to make a point he could make in 30 seconds.

HNIC? Don't even get me started. I swear if I hear one more Ron McLean Hometown Hockey story about how little Billy McGee who plays bantam hockey for the Beavertown Badgers in Fence Post, Alberta's great uncle once drove a zamboni for the Toronto St. Pats at Maple Leaf Gardens or watch Ron in full hockey gear on some pond trying to fit a helmet on top of his toque ...

Sportsnet's Hockey Central is just brutal.

The only game broadcast that's bearable is TSN's which is overall excellent.

This annoys me more than his anti-Leafs schtick honestly. Like FFS spit it out already. Hate when he rambles like that. I feel like Joe Pesci in Goodfellas.

This is untrue, hnic had been unwatchable garbage include senile old grapes long before his “you people” moment
Yes but coaches corner was the only thing worth watching.

It was listed as a 7pm start last Saturday in Detroit, dint start till 730.glad I gave it more than an hour

I dont know if I mentioned this here before, but I am enjoying the Kyper - Bourne duo. I love O/D, but they talk too much about crap I dont care about, namely basketball, golf and football (both kinds).

Same. They had a great show yesterday with Cujo, I never hear interviews from him, he was awesome. They also had Brian Lawton on and they got into some advanced stats (analytics) talk. Very interesting.

I mean, as with everyone else, you have to take what they say with a grain of salt... I think Kyper is pretty heavy on the doom and gloom, and like any of the talking heads, they have some players they like and some they don't but the show overall, for me at least, is very enjoyable. Bournie is good, but really submissive when it comes to Kypers takes... and I know some don't like him but I like the angle he brings with his comments and insight. Also like 'producer' Same McKee too, just throws in some good Leaf Nation perspective here and there; his reactions to the games is so different from the other two and matches my feelings quite often lol.

Unbearable, for HNIC I've resorted to muting both intermissions, setting a timer for 15 minutes, and going to do shit I'd prefer doing like taking out the garbage, cleaning dishes, clean the cat litter, etc.

Ron has become that old man who talks about those random-ass boring stories about people nobody's heard of in random places all across Canada and we're somehow supposed to find it interesting because they have a community hockey rink or something like that.

Wanna start a petition to bring back Don Cherry just to keep Ron's ego in check and keep him from talking too much.
I take my dog for a walk during the intermission. Coach's corner used to be must watch TV, now that Cherry is gone they didn't replace it with something worthwhile.

Leafs lunch on TSN and Kypreos/Bourne on Sportsnet, are the best radio shows for hockey. I like listening to Overdrive as well, but as some have pointed out it is much better when Jonas Siegel or Mike Johnson are in instead of Noodles.

The NHL should never sell an exclusive package to one broadcaster again. God it sucks to watch 75% of games with Sportsnet.

Just the change of a CBC, TSN and SN broadcast really makes each intermission more enjoyable. I can’t stand the same set/personalities as often as we see them.

I don't know about ratings, but his podcast is horrible.
He’s incoherent and tends to ramble on during 5 minutes chunks, I couldn’t imagine an open ended platform like a podcast where there isn’t even a timeframe to keep within.

He does OK for an 80 + yo. His son and daughter are on with him to keep it on track. One thing they feature, which I especially like, are the replays from the Grapevine TV show.

That sounds dreadful and ripe with nostalgia with no real semblance of being relevant or current.
It sounds like that one incoherent and rambling relative we all have who thinks trump won the election.
