Ew 10pm.. not staying up for that. PVR and maybe watch it tomorrow (if it’s a win ;))

I say this with every 10pm start....but the I just "want to catch a little of the 1st"....

"oh maybe I will just see how they start the second"....

"only a few minutes left, and I am up so why not finish the period"...

"this is a good game and it's already late, may as well finish it"...

...

"oh my God we lost and I have to wake up in 4 hours, what the hell am I doing!"

Ive learned it’s better to wake up and start the day to see the Leafs win, or be really glad I missed a loss and got a good nights sleep.

Especially when you’ve got young kids in the house.

This set will depend on how Edmonton is defending through the neutral zone. They definitely watched the tape of us attacking the middle with much less of the dreaded back pass and another back pass speed and skill killer style.

We know Edmonton can score and McDavid will be getting away from Holl on faceoffs. We aren’t going to be able to get Muzzy/Holl against him as much so the others need to keep a close gap on him and make sure they get in his way all night somehow.

hopefully our bottom 6 score some again.

Edit: is Keefe weeding out the drop passes to a degree? I hope so. They were excessive. We can use them like champs for line changes for preferred matchups for sure. I like the drop if it looks to clogged but i seen opening to skate so many times and they dropped it.

Stop the Drop :)

Definitely should be a 9pm game, but this is why people hate Torontonians.

7pm local time is the standard, we can’t complain about that. How pissed would Leaf fans be if the game started at 5pm on a work day?
Living in Alberta I love come home from work and going straight to watching hockey hahaha. (If the games were @5 in Toronto though it would be a horrible thing and I would miss at least the 1st period of every game haha).

Looking at the division standings it is clear that there are three teams that are above the rest: Tor, Mtl, Wpg.

Calgary may join the top tier, they played the smallest number of games and two of them were against us  so that negatively skewed their results.

That said, can you believe our two losses came against Ottawa and Edmonton

We should be able to take care of business anytime we play Edmonton.
Edmonton was able to beat us before, they are dangerous and were able to frustrate us.

Start on time and play hard. If we play to our potential we can dominate any team (in this division)

Also, can Montreal lose a game already. Sheesh

My guess we get at least 3 of 4 points here ... Edmonton will revert back to da Edmonton Oil Trappers because it won them a game but Keefe will be better prepared this time ... and I can't see refs giving Edmonton da win with another phantom call late in game like last time either ... but McJesus will have a great game in 1 of da 2 games which should get them 1 point minimum ... hoping I'm wrong and we win both but guessing we get 3 of 4 points ... i can see McJesus doing something outstanding in OT

Im not convinced Winnipeg is as good as their start. Montreal clearly is not as good as their start (they literally cant be). They'll come back down to earth at some point.

The Good: ITS GAMEDAY!!! :thumbu:

The Bad: 10pm :thumbd:

The Ugly: The Ottawa Senators :D

If this team can find any way to play like they did in the first period of the last game, they are going to be near impossible to beat. I loved the look of the 4th line. Speedier.

If this game show how looks like the first game these guys played, I might not be able to stay away lol

GO LEAFS!!

NHL scoring lead up for grabs tonight. Early days but Marner has it in him to challenge for the Art Ross.

I feel this is the year he establishes himself as a 100 point player (1.22 PPG = 68 points this season).

30 goals / 70 assists in his prime I feel is the expectation for Mitch.

Interested in how Keefe organizes the defensive deployment.
My preference would be to have Holl and Muzzin out with Mcjesus.
This shouldnt be a slight on Rielly.
Am not optimistic

Keep in mind Edmonton has the last change, so they'll largely dictate the matchups

Because Vancouver leads PIM by a very large margin.

The idiotic game management system the refs employ try to equally distribute PP time depending on who's leading and who's trailing.

No I mean how could a top 5 player in the entire NHL(Matthews) that is ALWAYS in the dirty areas and being obstructed with has yet to draw a penalty?
