Toronto: Where the rebuild means getting older.
Raddysh hasn’t played a ton and is 30. The last couple of years likely not great but by then the cap could be 200 Million.

If you watched SPDN Agent Provocateur show about the cap they said the cap will likely be 125 million next year. That they were artificially keeping it low and rising slower so that the cap differences between currently signed players and those coming into free agency wasn’t crazy. But each year it’s gonna jump 10% plus.

No one is outraged he’s on the roster, in fact, most if not all Devils fans want Nemec gone over Hamilton
Cmon-I could pull out dozens and dozens of posts by devils fans saying move him, his play and cost are killing us.

Nemec is current devils fan fodder hoping for a great return by a foolish trading team.

My understanding is he did not get PP time when he was putting up 35 points. He will be our undisputed #1PP dman on a unit with Matthews, Nylander, Knies, and McKenna most likely.

My expectations are 40-50 points
He has interesting underlying numbers we will see it's still risky

Solid deal for the leafs. This is just above Rielly money, and you get a PP quarterback with a bomb point shot and two-way play.

Haters gonna hate. There is definite risk, but also upside. This deal looks even better as the cap increases. LTIR when he gets old. Solid.

I honestly don't see how it is risky. The only big name players needing a deal in the coming years are Matthews and McKenna I guess both being a few years away.

Leafs still have 25+million of cap space with their entire team signed. They can still go out and sign Tuch to 11-12M if they wanted and still be able to add a few more solid players with their space left.

And by year 4, the cap will be 30 million higher and 8.5M will be 5.5M today

Raddysh appears to be the type of player the Leafs need. Puck-mover, PP QB, put up points in regular season. Hard shot.

The only word of caution would be why Tampa didn't make a big effort to resign him, and traded him to a division rival. You'd think Tampa would want to keep Raddysh considering Hedman is on his last legs. They don't have any prospects that can step into this role next season.

Tampa has about 16 million in cap space. Thats probably why.
