Has the makings of a very good PP unit

Just a few seasons ago we heard endlessly about the greatest PP unit in history, and then it was not.

His 4 playoff points in 20 games is certainly interesting.

As far as free agency contracts go this is perfectly in line but I daresay I would be disappointed if it were the Bruins. An unproven, already 30 year old now signed until 38?

Welcome to Toronto Darren

Raddysh appears to be the type of player the Leafs need. Puck-mover, PP QB, put up points in regular season. Hard shot.

The only word of caution would be why Tampa didn't make a big effort to resign him, and traded him to a division rival. You'd think Tampa would want to keep Raddysh considering Hedman is on his last legs. They don't have any prospects that can step into this role next season.

8.5M is a bit overpaid but nothing too crazy in a rising cap world. Obviously I am not evaluating Raddysh off his crazy season last year but his 30 something pts the previous 2.

8 years is BAD. But he was a UFA so Toronto had no choice.

Not the flex you think it is. At all 😂

8.5 isn’t a lot now, and in 3 years it will be even better. He was the #1 UFA this year, and fills the position needed most by the leafs. Anyone trashing this move is doing it to troll 💯.
It 3 years he will be 33/34?

Toronto did not just sign a typical #1 defenseman in their prime years at a discount.

Not bad given that every team is loaded with cap and looking to throw it around.

A 5th round pick for early rights seems worthwhile. Now let's hope he's a late-bloomer - otherwise his back may start to hurt really quickly.
