ROR is 75% retained. 50 from the Blues and 25 from the Wild. Was there no retention on this deal or something? Or are full details not out yet.

Thanks, certainly explains the high draft pick compensation.ROR is 75% retained. 50 from the Blues and 25 from the Wild.
I don't see much being done with the defense. It isn't the problem with this team. I guess I could see a depth piece for cheap or something.Leafs added and have improved however the D and goalie situation is still a major major concern.
Next up to improve for a playoff run.

Bolts
Canes
Devils
Penguins

Sabres
I still see Toronto probably adding depth to the D.Leafs added and have improved however the D and goalie situation is still a major major concern.

Trying too hard..... it's in the title of the thread,..... try reading past TORWonder if it’s a handshake deal for something down the road?
Don’t let some sour folks define an entire fan base (not that I am stating you are).Leafs have finished top 5 regular season for 6 years straight and still haven’t gotten out of the first round
I came here to say I think they find success with ROR this year, but seeing people like you post makes me hope they fail again
This was clever, well done.Cinderella's real problem wasn't her wardrobe.
Cinderella's real problem was, at heart, she wasn't a princess...she was a scullery maid.
O’reilly probably will be a lot better than Foligno, but I agree it is a similar situation lot of asset giving for a rental that doesn’t address the biggest weakness. They still need to make a move and now they have a lot less assets to do it, now other teams need or will have a lot more pressure to make moves.O'Reilly is cooked. This is Nick foligno all over again

One of the Leafs biggest needs was forward depth. This absolutely helped.O’reilly probably will be a lot better than Foligno, but I agree it is a similar situation lot of asset giving for a rental that doesn’t address the biggest weakness. The leafs have top 10 goaltending metrics league wide. Sammmy has been fantastic and Murray has been solid when healthy. The only thing I can say is the Leafs better win the cup this year cause they just mortgage their future with all those picks!!! Dubas is really feeling the pressure, but the Leafs haven't solve their weakness GOALTENDING!!!
If you're making this kind of trade, there's got to be other stuff in the works. You don't make an all-in type move and then stop there.
Oh that's Minnesota's prospect...huh, I thought a 4th is just ok for 25%, free pick. Pillar looks like he might not be much of anything tho.I don't see the incentive for Minnesota here.
Why give up a prospect to retain salary?
Is there something about Pillar they don't like?

Likely don’t see a future for him at all. Looking at his stats alone, it doesn’t seem like he’s destined for much of a pro futureI don't see the incentive for Minnesota here.

Guerin probably wasn’t going to sign Josh Pillar by the June 1st deadline so Minnesota would have given his rights up anyway.Oh that's Minnesota's prospect...huh, I thought a 4th is just ok for 25%, free pick. Pillar looks like he might not be much of anything tho.
