Confirmed Trade: [TOR/STL/MIN] O'Reilly, Acciari, Pillar to TOR; Abramov, Gaudette, ‘23 1st, ‘23 3rd, ‘24 2nd to STL; ‘25 4th to MIN

Leafs added and have improved however the D and goalie situation is still a major major concern.

Next up to improve for a playoff run.
Bruins
Bolts
Canes
Devils
Penguins
Caps
Sabres
I don't see much being done with the defense. It isn't the problem with this team. I guess I could see a depth piece for cheap or something.

I still see Toronto probably adding depth to the D.

A few of those teams will come up short at adding a significant impact player. So far Rangers, Islanders and Toronto have landed one with Meier, Chychrun and Kane left.

Leafs have finished top 5 regular season for 6 years straight and still haven’t gotten out of the first round

I came here to say I think they find success with ROR this year, but seeing people like you post makes me hope they fail again
Don’t let some sour folks define an entire fan base (not that I am stating you are).

I always find it weird how people take sports too personally. I understand a reasonable rivalry, but at the end of the day, it’s best to show respect where it’s due.

O'Reilly is cooked. This is Nick foligno all over again
O’reilly probably will be a lot better than Foligno, but I agree it is a similar situation lot of asset giving for a rental that doesn’t address the biggest weakness. They still need to make a move and now they have a lot less assets to do it, now other teams need or will have a lot more pressure to make moves.

One of the Leafs biggest needs was forward depth. This absolutely helped.

Was there no retention on this deal or something? Or are full details not out yet.
75% retention

The only thing I can say is the Leafs better win the cup this year cause they just mortgage their future with all those picks!!! Dubas is really feeling the pressure, but the Leafs haven't solve their weakness GOALTENDING!!!
The leafs have top 10 goaltending metrics league wide. Sammmy has been fantastic and Murray has been solid when healthy.

The Leafs need some grit and players with good playoff experience. ROR fits the bill.

Still, I feel like their playoff success wil come down to their D and goaltending.

According to colaiacovo (blues and leafs alumnus) Armstrong asked him where he wanted to go and he chose Toronto. Like Gio

I think foligno did too, so they’re gaurantees but I would feel better about the trade if there is a path to a reasonable extension.

Oh that's Minnesota's prospect...huh, I thought a 4th is just ok for 25%, free pick. Pillar looks like he might not be much of anything tho.
Guerin probably wasn’t going to sign Josh Pillar by the June 1st deadline so Minnesota would have given his rights up anyway.

Guerin cleared a roster spot in exchange for retaining salary while adding a mid round pick.

Pillar just recently returned from injury and is back in Saskatoon’s lineup.

Great by the Leafs, ROR should be the best rental to grad on deadline period.

I still consider that the Leads need another dman,

Great move and not that expensive.
