Confirmed Trade: [TOR/STL/MIN] O'Reilly, Acciari, Pillar to TOR; Abramov, Gaudette, ‘23 1st, ‘23 3rd, ‘24 2nd to STL; ‘25 4th to MIN

I think it's fair to say Dubas has a lot riding on these playoffs.

Also Minny seems like a weird option with their dead cap already.

lmao you missed the point again didn't you

Tampa needed 7 games + dog shit officiating to barely get past us. We were already the better team this year, and just added to the roster without losing a single roster player.

In simple worlds

Leafs got better
Tampa got worse

get it ?
Nick paul factor remains hes gonna torch you guys. Hes a menace.

I like it for the Leafs. Fleshing out the depth beyond the top 6 makes a ton of sense.

I also have to applaud Doug Armstrong and his willingness to pull the plug(sell rentals) historically speaking whenever he isn’t convinced of their chances while others in similar positions may not.

Bottom 6 was a major area of concern, esp. considering who the Leafs first two opponents most likely will be, so even though Dubas took a risk on ROR's health and gave up a first for a rental (which he said he wouldn't do), I respect the move.

Acciari is almost exactly what they need - I'd have loved it more if he was a top-6 forward on top of all the intangibles he brings so that Jankrok/Kerfoot get pushed down, but this team desperately needed a forward or two in their top 9 that puts a little fear in the opposition.

Not a huge fan. Don't get me wrong i don't think that the leafs overpaid but i'd rather seen them getting Meier or Horvat. Best you could do if you don't want to part with a prospect of any real value probably.

Leafs allowed very, very few prime scoring chances against TB last year. D was not their issue; Campbell being inconsistent and the vagaries of officiating did them in. Also, I think Vasi had like a sub .900 SP% against TO, it's really terrible luck doing them in.

It's just my eyeballs I'm sure, but.....totally not concerned about the Leafs D this season, Samsonov is maybe a bit injured now too?

They need to address that, D is fine. Woll ain't gonna cut it if our NHL goalies are both out come playoffs or something.

A lot of you guys see Acciari as a throw in. He is a good player and had back to back hat tricks last year, including scoring on a penalty shot. Trust me, this is not an over payment for 2 very good players.
Everyone just ignoring Acciari. He will have the best motor on the team that just doesnt quit, and he has a scoring touch. He has very good hands and vision. He is exactly a 3rd line center we get to play on our 4th line.
