ROR goes beast mode in the playoffs, dude wants to win. Acciari was maybe the Blues most consistent player from a work ethic standpoint this year, works his ass off every shift and hits everything that moves. Doesn’t take many penalties and can score some goals.

He's been smart in handling some of these players like Spezza and perhaps Simmonds, throwing it out there that Toronto is a nice cozy place to retire (career wise) we got another job for you after we're done with you but we'll give you another shot in the NHL.

I'd be attracted to a job like that.

ROR signed a two year deal in Russia during the half season lockout then signed an offersheet with Calgary all because he was mad he though the Avs were lowballing him. You really think he is willing to give up a shot at another big contract to settle for 1M because Toronto is "cozy"? He's been bad this year but he's what, 32? Someone will pay him ( as evidenced by the Leafs giving up a 1st+ for him).

Funny, I was in Toronto today for the first time in 3 years, for the Auto show (which kinda sucked, but still worth going to, so many car companies not there) any way, on the way I went into RealSports store and they had a rack with "clearance" jerseys.

I really want a St. Pats Jersey, and they had a bunch of Tavares' on the clearance rack "$197"..... I show it to my dad "hey, I wonder why this jersey is on clearance?" and I was joking around, and pointing to the A on the front of the jersey (obviously Tavares is the captain of the Leafs)

Well, then I got schooled bigtime by a nearby employee at the store "actually, when Tavares wore this St Pats jersey the Leafs didn't have a captain, so it is accurate"

And I'm a huge Leafs fan, but still...... wait, they haven't updated the St Pats jersey in what.....4 or 5 years then? and this shit is still $200 on CLEARANCE?

Anyway that's my story. I really hope them give us a new one in the next coming weeks.

I need to look up all that though. My memory needs a refresh on Tavares and St Pats and captaincy etc.

All of them are solid defensive forwards and Keefe's system uses them to help our defense out. This trade will only improve the defense

If I had to guess, I think it's more likely the fact O'Reilly got traded to the Leafs.

Look at how fast non Leafs fans opinions changed the moment Toronto won the 2016 Draft Lottery to draft Auston Matthews 1st overall or when Jonh Tavares signed with the Leafs in July 2018.
