Whens the last time Dubas really mentioned his Goaltending department like that...interesting

Every team says this about a player they don't value anymore, lol.My fav part of the day is oilers fans convinced that Campbell singing is good. Hahahahahah.
I'm actually in the boat of preferring Campbell over Murray. Murray is a huge risk. Samsonov is a risk I'm fine with taking but to use poker terms, he's 7-8 suited while Murray is like 2-6 off suit.Every team says this about a player they don't value anymore, lol.
Same thing people are saying about our new tandem.
You really just never know. Lets hope things get better. Its not impossible for players to turn it around (referring to Samsonov and Murray).
I have a feeling Samsonov will become our #1. Really like this signing. I wanted him as soon as he was available.
yeah i completely agree he has everything you could ask all you need is him to refine as he goes, i still think our goaltending will be a lot better this season compared to last. i think we possibly could have lucked in to a franchise goalie.Seems to be good with his blocker and he seems big in the net. Seems to be really good down low. This is obviously not much video to go on but from the highlights that's what I seemed to pick up. Glove Seems okay... Definitely capable of making some crazy saves. That one on the rebound I think against Pittsburgh is pretty crazy. I like this gamble. Pretty hopeful about this guy. With a new goaltending coach it could work out really well.
I believe he is still an RFA after this 1yr deal. So if he does well...we can always sign him long term or go to arbitration for the last year. I think he got a little too comfy in washington and this might be a wake up call for him. He's very young for a goalie. Younger than Shesterkin and Sorokin for reference. The one year length is not a risk to Toronto, but I almost wonder if it should have been timed the same length as Murray.
Sounds like you take poker serious lolI'm actually in the boat of preferring Campbell over Murray. Murray is a huge risk. Samsonov is a risk I'm fine with taking but to use poker terms, he's 7-8 suited while Murray is like 2-6 off suit.
Campbell was pocket 8's. A good hand but you wish you had better but know it's not the worse hand you can have. I understand that term made it unattractive though.
So yeah we know he's skilled and can make spectacular saves but tbh I'd love to see a video of what kind of weak goals he gives up.
Except Wash fans say he sucks.... and apparently isn't a gud pro either. Just because he was drafted high doesn't mean he's a star.Another reason why murray trade is dumb. This guy is young and still putting it together and highly skill.
Perfect season for him to become a no.1. If a team with Leafs cap structure had their highest paid goalie at 1.8 mil it is game over for the league, but this idiot went and panic bought murray and his 4.7 cap hit.
Samsonov and a GOOD mid range player to add to the forwards >>>>> samsonov + murray
Samsonov for the regular season and Murray for the playoffs. Sounds good to me!He is going to be our #1 this season because the chance Murray stays healthy is unfortunately quite low.
Woodley was saying on a podcast that samsonov was reluctant to change his style and that's why he was inconsistent. His game was suited for KHL hockey. So yeah we know he's skilled and can make spectacular saves but tbh I'd love to see a video of what kind of weak goals he gives up.
Here is that poscasy is anyone wants to listen to itWoodley was saying on a podcast that samsonov was reluctant to change his style and that's why he was inconsistent. His game was suited for KHL hockey.
Woodley also said that last season samsonov finally decided to switch his technique but was struggling a bit, especially with post play. He also said the same about Murray. In conclusion he stated that Sanford is the right man for the job to give both these guys the tools they need to clean up their post play and their general technique.
It was a very promising interview.

I am loving these no limit Texas Holdem references!!Nah Campbell is like AKo. Good hand, you're going to be putting money in pre flop with a 3 or 4 bet, and it could pay off, but also could blow up in your face and leave you broke if you run into Aces or Kings. The 5 years of term is scary. Murray is like 55. You're paying money short term to see a flop, try to hit a set but you likely won't go broke if you don't as it's only 2 years of term. I'll give you 87s for Samsonov. Kallgren is like 62o. It's a bad hand. You might see a flop from the BB if it's a limped pot, but generally it's a hand/goalie that won't be played much but also won't cost you anything.
The likelihood of this happening is very remote.Man I can't emphasize how much i love this signing. If it all goes right, we have a shesty/sorokin level goalie.
