Hi leaf fans, was wondering if stolarz made sense for a back up plan for MM…. Dostal is ready to jump in…. And seems highly unlikely we move gibson.

Stolarz is on last year of his contract, has put up solid numbers and his contract is essentially nothing

No confident on Murray at all. In the upcoming Matthews extension talk, Matthews would probably tell Kyle. "I am not going to sign the extension and walk as free agent because you only kept getting injury prone goalie. You were wasting my prime year here"

It's not a bad deal as we got a guy (besides injury issues) that can be a legit #1, but it's damn sure not a good one. Even if Murray wins two vezina's, we should have gotten more for taking 4.5M+ off of Ottawa's hands.

Like FFS AZ moved up in the draft, got a 2nd and a 3rd for moving Kassian's dead cap and that was for only 3.2M and less real money. Sure, Murray isn't as bad as Kassian, but he's also one more hit to the head from not playing another game.

I have faith that Dubas will be able to move Murray this off-season in a steal of a trade by swapping Minten for another teams 3rd round selection.

That would open up enough cap space to go out and get a true starter.

Well now I want Reimer more than ever because we need a budget goalie who can lower the risk (especially with Murray's health).

Dubas had Dorion on the ropes yet somehow Dubas is the one who gets hosed.

"So you're going to take Matt Murray off our hands and all we have to do is retain 25% and throw in a couple of measly picks? Okay, you win."

JFJ slow-dug his own grave when he acquired Raycroft in the first place at the cost of one of the best goaltending prospects on the planet.

It's not the same value of the door as the JFJ sequence of blowing out Rask to get Raycroft and then trading another 1st and other picks for Toskala, but considering the opportunity cost that was lost in bad cap money on Ritchie-Mrazek and now Murray, this could very well be the beginning of the end for Kyle Dubas. Not sure how far beyond the Shanaplan staff this could go.

Dubas needs to be fired. I've supported him but this is horrendous. Our team is worse and with way less cap. Our entire management needs to go.
Hard not to disagree now. kinda would like a new management to run whats next. if that means we have to tare down then we have to tare down. I feel like this move is a clear indication that Matthews last 2 years of his contract will be wasted.
still lots of time for moves but this feels like the wrong one.
I wanted to take a chance on Blackwood or something.
