Proposal: Tor <---> mtl

Im curious as to where you would look. Bozak wins 60 per cent of his draws, has good speed and scores at a fifty point clip for 4.2 million. Who else could we go after and fit under cap ?
How bout you wait near the TDL to see what is available instead of directly looking at teams that aren't expected to make the playoffs.
Well the consensus says a cap dump = 2nd, I'd probably value Bozak at a 2nd too.
2 2nds + DD for Bozy would be fair value wise for both sides imo.
The fact that MTL is a good team and the 2nds will be late are going to throw it off a bit though, for my fellow TML fans.
That is reasonable however there will be another 12 to 18 teams looking to bolster there lineups at the deadline. Getting a headstart on upgrading 2 -3-4 spots wouldnt hurt
We're not even 20 games into the season. I know it's tough for you that we have a record of only 11-1-1, but you're gonna have to be patient. Getting a head start only means we might miss out on better opportunities.
Its not tough for me that were 11-1-1. I recognize that our record is not indicative of how good we are. We have been outplayed in over half our games being saved by our netminders. One of our biggest weaknesses is in the faceoff circle. This is a season where we could be definite contenders with 2 or 3 key additions. We shouldnt be waiting for deadline day or there will only be scraps left. I could see one last pickup on deadline day because of the small % left on this years salary tho. Tho only thing that is tough for me honestly is the 25 year drought when 7 yrs was our usual wait at the longest.

We cant have too many role guys. I hope the habs add a top 4 LD, and a top 6 F while sacking that therrien along with his buddies DD and Plekanec. Only then can we think of a cup cuz now a cup is pipe dream.

The 9.25 from markov and desharnais after this year and 10.1 from plekanec and emelin after next frees up 19.35 for restructuring. Raises for price and galchenyuk. Bring up maccarron and sergachev. Sign shattenkirk. There would still be 10-15 left with cap going up. Future looks good

To TOR: Emelin, Desharnais, McCarron, Juulsen, 1st in 2017 (MTL) & 2nd in 2017 or 2018 (MTL) ($7,600,000 in active salary + $2,170,000 in non NHL Roster players)
Tor can also retain some salary to even the cap situation out roguhly $4,325,000 added to MTL in this deal - $1,500,000 in current cap space = $2,825,000 that needs to be shed and or retained from TOR deal to make it work cap wise

Seems like habs fans generally want to keep Emelin now as he's playing better
Toronto trading Kadri would be ill advised after just signing him for 8 years, wouldn't reflect well on the leafs in future contract negotiations
I don't think there's enough value in the futures you've put on the table for the leafs to move JVR, Kadri and Soshnikov. The benchmark for rental players in JVR's echelon is a late 1st+ A-/B+ prospect (around where both McCarron and Juulsen are), so if you take that value out of both sides it looks like:
Kadri+Soshnikov+Polak
for
DD (cap dump)+Emelin(not useful for us unless we can flip him)+McCarron/Juulsen+2nd
I wouldn't trade a 2nd line centre in his prime on a good, long-term contract for an A-/B+ prospect + 2nd and two value-neutral contracts worth over $7mil this year and over $4mil next, so adding a good young player with some upside to that 2nd line centre makes it a pretty easy no. Polak we're probably neutral on but we can ride that contract out
