For all the cry babies.

1. We don't know the outcome of the trade until end of year
2. Our first is going to be late pick
3. Scouting is lacking this year; so it's a crap shoot.
4. We kept all our top A prospects
5. We are only paying 25% of his salary

6. Would you rather play with Foligno on your team or against him? please think!

Stop shittting on Dubas. This is the same guy that has built this team that is in 1st place.

Bunch of cry babies who I expect to apologize to Dubas at year's end.

Hope we don't give up any more 1sts for goons that might not even make the lineup.

might not make the line up? Did you watch Columbus against us last year? Dubois and Foligno man handled us every shift. Foligno is so valuable. He is going to create so much room for JT and Willy or Matthews and Marner. Incredible forechecker: this team is going to be really hard to play against. If we can get Oleksiak to play with Bogosian I’d say we are set.

do we still have cap space for another move?
Think they have enough to get either:

A waiver exempt D and/or G (retained depending who it is)

or

A cheap D or G heavily retained

Dubas got max retention done on Foligno which wasn't quite necessary; I think he makes a move tomorrow that may or may not use that little bit of cap space (1.075m of waiver exempt players cap hit can be buried = $0)

Very happy with the acquisition of Foligno, not so happy about the price we paid.

Hopefully, it will pay off for us in the playoffs and it will be a moot point.

That's a huge leap. We're not expecting to return a superstar or draft a superstar with our first round pick... We just want it to be used wisely.

The Islanders got Palmieri + Zajac for essentially the same price (they gave up two nothing prospects along with the picks)... Let that sink in.
This!
I like Foligno. I think he is a good pick up. And I’m okay with using our first to improve the team.

But the value on this trade wasn’t good. And if you point that out some posters here seem to think it means you prefer draft picks over winning.

I think we needed some of this. Makes Engvall that much more expendable all the while opening up more offence oriented minutes for Spezza by strengthening up the PK personnel (through Nash )

I know its probably against the grain, but I don't like it.

Foligno is a fine player and should fit in nicely on the 3rd/4th line, but we're filled with guys that fit those spots. Trading a 1st for a guy that really isn't a game changer seems..... not good? Feels like a Plekanec/Boyle pick up more than it would have spending that 1st+ on a Hall-type.

Either way though it happened. He's a good player, and I'm much happier we traded the first (hopefully very late) in a bad draft than any of our top-4 prospects. Just think there were better guys to acquire.

IF you think Foligno is a goon, go ahead and just deactivate your account

Worse, he doesn't intimidate anyone. Rather, he just takes wayyyyyy too many stupid minor penalties (took 5 in two rounds last year), while contributing little to nothing offensively.

When the first words about a guy are "great leader", "good character", and all the other BS cliches, thats not a guy I want to pay a premium for.
