It's clearly a sellers market (despite what the experts say) and there's not a ton of quality available. Folingo gives it his all every shift, plays a good two-way game and is physical which is what this team needs badly for a playoff run. I wanted a premium add but that player just isn't available right now. Folingo works and I don't give a shit about a 1st round pick when we're in 1st.

Rangers fan coming in peace.
What do you guys think this deal will do for Galch's place in the lineup? I was going to pick him up in my fantasy league but now I'm not sure if that is still a good idea.

It's not going to affect it too much at this time. Seems like his spot in the top 6 is secure.

Who knows though when Nylander is cleared to play and Foligno is done with his quarantine.

I think Galch will still be in the top 6. He's been very effective since coming over. Hyman is likely seen as a line driver by management right now so the team might have him play on line 3 with Kerfoot and Mikheyev.

Galchenyuk - Matthews - Marner

Hyman - Tavares - Nylander

Mikheyev - Engvall - Foligno

Kerfoot - Spezza - Thorton

Idk where Simmonds goes

Price seemed a bit steep but I like the player and I think he can really help us. I think we go with Hyman on the top 2 lines and Nick on the 3rd.

Tampa is going to skate circles around ol' St. Nick again this year, should we matchup.... But hey, maybe he'll only take 4 minor penalties this year in the playoffs, instead of thr 5 he did last year over those games. That would be great!

Great add, one we all saw coming.

We kept our kids were already developing, and we can just continue grabbing free pockets, were an attractive place to play as we need cheap talent and they could have an opportunity to play.

Some people are trapped in the forever rebuild and can't get excited about trying to go for it.

LETS f***ING GO!!!!!!!!

Perfect pick up and a price that I think is fair. Our first is going to be late, and it’s not a strong draft. Dubas has earned his track record and I have confidence our picks will help make up for the gap.

f***ing love Foligno as a player! Size, heart, skill, hustle, former captain. Perfect playoff compliment!

I'm going to take a guess that for the second straight year, picks 20 to 50ish are going to be around equal value/potential. I like the trade regardless if it was a first or second. Foligno has that personality and drive that checks of the intangibles box for me for playoff hockey.

And we get it, those of you that already hated Dubas didn't like the trade either.

I like it, it's the sort of pickup they need for the playoffs. I don't care about a late first. They have a legit chance this year and it's why you develop players in the first place.

Frankly when considering we had to overpay for the massive retention, it’s not too bad.

Since the price has been set for 25% retention being worth a 4th, it essentially works out to having to pay 2 extra 4ths worth of value to Columbus for the 50% retention.

I’m sure with no retention, it could’ve been pulled off for a 2nd & 3rd. Having 2 extra 4ths added into the cost made it a 1st & 4th
