Sweet deal for Toronto. Exactly the type of player they need. No real holes in their lineup that I see.
The only thing I could potentially see is a bit more scoring in the bottom 6. Mcmann, Domi and Laughton is a good 3rd line but Domi has been a black hole offensively this year. Mcmann was sorely missed last year in the playoffs. The overall roster looks really good though. Not as good as Dallas, but a top 5 team on paper.

On paper, that looks like a stacked 3rd line. I'll defer to your judgement on how they've actually been this year. Regardless, the Leafs have finally addressed one of their biggest needs they've had... Forever. Carlo/Parayko type was exactly what I think you needed.

It’s a hefty price, but good on the Leafs for going all in before their window closes. Carlo and Laughton are both signed beyond this season.

Dude is in his prime and has few years left in his deal at a very reasonable AAV.

Leafs have been clamoring for a top 4 RD for years now and we finally got one. Much needed

...he doesn't "hit" per say; he moves his big body in the way...think a young Hal Gill...

Maybe a modern day Hal Gill. Even that seems unfair because one of Carlo's greatest strengths since him came into the league has been his mobility. He was paired with Chara in his rookie year because of this. He's always been a horse on the PK. This year has been a struggle, but I'd be inclined to point to the past 8 years as evidence. This has just been a disaster season in every aspect for this Bruins team.

...did not intend for the Gill comparison to be a slight, just a comparable as it pertains to "hitting"...Carlo doesn't hit as much as he moves his big frame in the way...
