Agreed. Don’t think he touched it.Pretty sure Dubby's goal will be given to Connor. Dubby didn't actually touch the puck.

Disagree. Ducks have played very well against us in both games. They controlled play in our zone big time tonight.Glad for the W. This is what game 1 should have been. The Ducks are not a good team.
Onwards and upwards.
Perfetti is the long term solution but even schief Ehlers Copp sas others suggested.I thought the Connor, PLD and Svech line looked pretty great for their first time playing together - can only imagine what they would be like with more time, although I will freely admit to a not-so-secret bias of wanting Dubois and Svech to play together again long-term and light up the NHL. Come on boys show em what you can do! Give Maurice no choice but to move Wheeler to the third line!
Ehlers is starting to heat up a little, and Copp is continuing to bust his butt and just make play after play, but Stastny was having trouble keeping up with the two youngsters. Ideally I would like to see Perfetti centering that line - could be dynamite! Stastny back to the wing on the third with limited minutes.
Otherwise I thought Beaulieu was one of the best defencemen tonight (what is this team? ), Pionk was good, ditto DeMelo and Stanley, Morrissey average to slightly below-average, Dillon still finding his place but generally solid, however Schmidt is starting to worry me a little with his play - those blind suicide cross-ice outlet passes are going to kill us, and his endurance isn't looking to be the greatest. Hope it is just early season jitters.
Hellebuyck bailed us out of this one until Connor took putting the game away into his own hands later.
Such a strange start to the season, but we needed this one for some confidence.
Does Connor look thinner this season? His face looks like he lost weight or something.
A few of the old guys need to be sent down for conditioning. Why they aren’t playing them 20+ minutes in preseason is beyond me. Jets need to rethink preseason.Jets will have to get used to new lines. I don’t think stas looks good keeping up with the 200 ft game and found him slow.
Gotta hand it to Copp he said he could be a top 6 and he’s playing like one.
That's how I saw it tooOff PLD stick then off the ducks D mans skate

Atrocious game.
Guys like KV/Svechnikov getting a chance and doing nothing with it. This should be a lesson for some fans who were pencilling them in in the top 6.I would send KV down to the AHL at this point and call Essymoint for some energy. He had one nice shot but nothing else.
Schmidt/Morissey pairing a tirefire and just surrendering the blue line for no reason rush after rush. Morrissey using his shot well on the PP though.
Good game by PLD. Need more of that physicality and "bull in a china shop" mentality from him night in and night out.
Did Stastny play? So far he looks like a waste of the $3.8 million or whatever we spent on him.
Getting outshot and outchanced by a bottom 5 team is not a good look for Maurice
Were there any fans in the arena? It sounded as quiet as library on tv. Low energy crowd.
So in short- the Jets sucked, the coaches sucked and the crowd sucked. One of the worst home openers I can remember.
Think you mis-spelled “2nd”. Correction: “3rd”.Time for Wheeler on the 2nd line
Thought Morrissey and Schmidt were meh defensively. However, Schmidts puck moving and carrying was evident.
Morrissey had a nice ppg. But the puck movement preceding his shot causing some movement from Gibson is what caught my eye. We were missing that the first game.
Early returns on Dillon-Pionk have been underwhelming so far.

Oh, I'm not saying we played well. I just think we have enough talent that we can overcome our poor team play.Disagree. Ducks have played very well against us in both games. They controlled play in our zone big time tonight.
I think these two will be okay eventually - my sense is that Pionk doesn't know where he stands on this line, as Dillon is the big physical guy and he is smaller, but he'll figure out soon enough that he's the better of the two defencemen, and then will play with more confidence. Probably why Dillon is a little unsure of himself too right now. I'm not worried about them.
