Scheifele and Wheeler may have agreed with you on that at one point, but not anymore.

I'm aware you can still catch covid, I just believe if you're out in public doing groceries to wear a mask, but considering you need to be vaccinated to enter and still need to wear a mask makes no sense when you sit down at your seat. So I'm not anti-mask/vax and don't want to get into a debate as it's reached one of the topics of politics, sex and religion.

Yeah I'm sure it shouldn't be an issue but Moe may have other ideas. He played 20 plus minutes today.

I'm fine with the overall minutes tonight given the circumstances with Scheifele being out, but I still think he'd be better utilized if they could cut the PK minutes. I think ideally he's playing 11-13 even strength minutes with 2-3 PP minutes to keep him fresher later into the season.

Just an interesting note:
After 4 games, the Jets have scored a total of 14 goals divided between 5 players. Connor/Copp/Dubois account for 11 of the goals which is essentially our top line right now and Morrissey has 2 powerplay goals with Harkins batting in a bounce off the boards from a shot wide of the net. While I'm happy Copp and Dubois are off to hot starts, we're really going to need the rest of the team to chip in if we're going to beat the better teams, especially with Scheifele and Wheeler out. On a more positive note, Ehlers is shooting like a maniac and eventually the pucks are just going to start going in. If this team can shore up its defensive system over the season it looks like we'll have two strong scoring lines, a big physical checking line, and a reasonably responsible 4th line. An offside is the difference between us being 2-2 to start right now, and Hellebyuck let in some uncharacteristically weak goals against in the first 3 games before looking like the Vezina winning goalie we all remember tonight. If Helle has finally shaken the cobwebs of the offseason illness off I think we have a chance at beating any team in the league when he's in net.

Sleep well Jet fans, it may be a bumpy ride... but the potential for great things is still there!

Wasn't expecting such a monotone and energy less presser from the coach.

Could be Chipper or his little henchman gave him a tuneup when they got back to town. Anyhow it was a nice bounce back game for the guys, fans & organization. Helle played well and PLD is really bringing it this season. The forwards are playing lower in our zone and I think over time this will be an improvement over how they were in no man's land the last few seasons. I think it is amazing how Copp has gone from a college walk on to now centring a first line in the NHL. Good for him. Two really nice passes by Nate setting up goals.

How is this possible?
Seriously who coaches this?
No wonder every game the opposing team scores PPGs.

Atrocious game.

Guys like KV/Svechnikov getting a chance and doing nothing with it. This should be a lesson for some fans who were pencilling them in in the top 6.I would send KV down to the AHL at this point and call Essymoint for some energy. He had one nice shot but nothing else.

Schmidt/Morissey pairing a tirefire and just surrendering the blue line for no reason rush after rush. Morrissey using his shot well on the PP though.

Good game by PLD. Need more of that physicality and "bull in a china shop" mentality from him night in and night out.

Did Stastny play? So far he looks like a waste of the $3.8 million or whatever we spent on him.

Getting outshot and outchanced by a bottom 5 team is not a good look for Maurice

Were there any fans in the arena? It sounded as quiet as library on tv. Low energy crowd.

So in short- the Jets sucked, the coaches sucked and the crowd sucked. One of the worst home openers I can remember.
We won 5-1 and hasn't there been enough downer talk during the first 3 games? Enjoy the win a little man .

I literally only saw the Jets of last 2 seasons, both in this game and the last period of the Wild game. It has taken a lot of air out of the hype for this season.

NHL always looks a bit Manic early in the season.

In the mean time I choose to embrace the joy in winning the old school way. The goalie is part of the team too and in our case he is our MVP by about two miles.

Watching the 21-22 version of PLD is also bringing me joy. Some things are more important than others early on and he is foundational to our teams success in both the short and long term. This version is what I was excited about when the trade was announced.

To echo my mantra from every season at this time. Meh…..Give it 10 games.

So Dubois up to a PPG to start the year. Pretty happy with it.

I hope he keeps this play up, and no doubt he has the talent, and also the size and speed, and a decent shot. I won't be surprised if PLD gets anywhere from 70 -80 points this year.

In my opinion he's a great replacement for Laine, and to sign PLD and keep him here, will be way more affordable than Laine, who will want big bucks. PLD is a better and faster skater, and plays a lot more physically, so I'm very happy with this trade, especially now that PLD is showing what he can do. Hope he has a great year, and gives us 2 strong centers at center ice.

Nice to have Helle back in form to put up a W. Great game by PLD. Wheeler with his biggest contribution to a win so far this year. Happy for the home fans who havent seen a game and a W in a long time.

Yeah Dubois when he plays like he can is the type of player you win with in the playoffs. I'm very happy with his play.

Really happy with his play so far. Feeling a little vindicated as well for sticking up for him last year. Season is early though but if this is the Duby we have from now on. We will be in a good spot when the rest of this team gets going. The downside? If he keeps it up we're gonna have to pay the man.

Yeah same here, I've been sticking up for him as well.

Well I always figured we'd have to pay him so I just want him to keep it up.

I don't know if he will keep up a PPG pace. With Scheif out for who knows how long it's definitely possible he becomes the focal point of our offence with Ehlers. I think 60+ isn't out of the question though. We need to lock him up for 8 years and throw away the key.

Having a Vezina winning goalie is huge, you don't have to play a perfect game to get a win . We had 2 of our best players out and still won, Helly makes 6 million a year and he's one of our best players, no shame in winning because he plays lights out to me.

Yeah I'm expecting around 65 points from him. I'd be happy with more but agrees think we need to get him locked up long term in January.
