Thought Morrissey and Schmidt were meh defensively. However, Schmidts puck moving and carrying was evident.
Morrissey had a nice ppg. But the puck movement preceding his shot causing some movement from Gibson is what caught my eye. We were missing that the first game.

Early returns on Dillon-Pionk have been underwhelming so far.

Our PP without Wheeler has actually done a pretty good job of keeping the pressure on in the offensive zone moving the puck around. Last game it was Kyle Connor on the half wall making plays, tonight I thought I saw Ehlers out on the first PP unit too! Imagine having two of the shiftiest players in the league with the puck playing on the same PP unit? I'm shocked it's worked so well!

1 EN goal, 1 garbage time goal. The ducks rookies played keepaway with the puck with the Jets for most of the game. As much as this place likes to hate on Scheifele/Wheeler, this team is nothing without them offensively.

Ducks still pretty handedly outplayed the Jets. Jets fans should still be concerned, the Ducks are bad and they for all intents and purposes should have won the game. Defensively, the Jets are a disaster. The systems they use are so terrible.

The umbrella is a bit of a weird look but if it works.

Still very concerned. Still very happy. It was the home opener. So yay, but losing and changing coach may be necessary.

I literally only saw the Jets of last 2 seasons, both in this game and the last period of the Wild game. It has taken a lot of air out of the hype for this season.

This wasn't a perfect game by no means. But The jets capitalized in their chances. And Helle played strongly. I felt like the ducks didn't muster up lots quality shots. But I'll see what the game summary says.

Natural Stat Trick had Ducks with 12 high danger changes and the Jets with 6.

Don’t like 7 d, don’t like beau in for 4 minutes. Don’t like stas on pk. Lots to quibble with, but that’s for after a loss which will happen.

Hearing a lot about how bad the Ducks are-
I thought their work in the our zone was excellent - they are are very quick and toss it around really well.
They also came out on top in most of the puck battles - they are a gritty team that works hard
I'll give them a little credit - blame the rest on our coverage back there.
