I don't think that particular one was ever in a table. But I have tables...they paste in pretty easy from a spreadsheet.

Here's 2011:

In the first few years, we didn't vote past the Top 20. The players below the line were not ranked in 2011 but appeared on later lists.

The outcomes are:
Top-3-F
Middle-6-F
Bottom-6-F
Top-Pair-D
Mid-Pair-D
Bottom-Pair-D
Tweener
Probable-Bust
Bust

I guess Redmond and Postma each played a season in the NHL with no AHL games, but they're still Tweeners in my books. BTW: Redmond turns 31 in a couple of weeks...if you weren't feeling old enough already. ;)

I remember trying to vote for Benny in 2011. Didn't know anything about him but the scouting report, thought that was the kind of player we could use.

I don't know if all those guys were busts. I think Telegin could have had a good career. He had a concussion in St. John's, went back to Russia, and has had a pretty decorated international career. Kulda I thought was good, but never got a chance. I liked Eric O'Dell's game, but he couldn't get the nod from Noel or Maurice over other depth guys.

Cormier was certainly a bust. I swear watching him skate, you would have thought there was cement in them. Definitely not drafted for the modern NHL. But he actually had a good camp his first year here, probably should have made the team, except we pulled Mc Lean off waivers. Among others.

Lots of contentious picks last year - the top 2 not evening winning a plurality of the vote, and 3 only just. Top 3 are far more clear cut in everyone's minds this year...

No one has yet missed from the #1 spot. Copp holds the distinction of the only player to make it to the NHL from a ranking of #20. Appleton's the only one who made it from #19.

No, they kept many of the scouts - they let the Thrashers' Director of Amateur Scouting (Dan Marr) go immediately and promoted Thrashers Head Amateur Scout Marcel Comeau to Director. He oversaw many great drafts by the Jets: Scheifele, Lowry, Trouba, Hellebuyck, Morrissey, Copp, Ehlers, Connor, Roslovic, Appleton, Niku. (The 2011-2015 drafts).

In 2016, Comeau stepped down as Director and another old Atlanta scout that stuck with the team, Mark Hillier, took over. He's overseen the drafts that brought in Laine, Stanley, Berdin, Vesalainen, Samberg, Gustafsson, etc (i.e. the last 3 drafts).

Anyway, you can thank the Thrashers' scouting department for that "Golden Age" of Jets drafting from 2011-2015. ;)

Comeau's departure may explain why the Jets have not drafted as well recently, as they did from 2011-15.

We also haven't been drafting as high either which also makes a difference.

Really only the 2016 draft has been poor imo. It seems since then we have gotten back on track. 2017 with Ves, Samberg, Gawanke, Kovacevik and Holm looks very good right now.

2018 with Gus, Chisholm, and Smith also looks pretty solid.

2019 Looks strong as well with Heinola, Nikanen, Landmark all off to good starts in their respective men's leagues. Blaisdell had a solid freshman year last season.

Before you assign blame for an event you need to prove that that event happened.

I'll blame the Stanley debacle on Hillier. But the more likely explanation for our poorer draft record, if that is what we have, is that we are drafting much later. On top of that, we have traded away many of our picks, including two 1sts. Until this year when we drafted 10th and got Perfetti. And don't ignore Heinola with a later 1st.

Not only that but we seem likely to be getting much better results from later rounds. Samberg, Gustafsson, Gawanke, Chisholm, Kovacevic all showing strongly.

Lol at Petan higher then Connor:)
So in 2015 Petan won gold at the WJC, tied for the lead in tournament scoring with some guy named McDavid. He was scoring 1.65 p/gp in the WHL. He was still short, but he was a legit prospect.

That same year, Kyle Connor was just a promising skinny kid drafted out of the USHL a month before the poll. Hardly anyone on the board had seen him play.

So it certainly made sense at the time.

Interesting that Copp peaked at #11 despite Team USA experience. College to NHL if I recall.
Copp wasn't really a flashy prospect. He'd signed out of Michigan and played 1 game with the Jets when the poll was done in 2015. Seemed to be a guy who'd play on the Moose for a year or two at least, but he made the Jets roster that fall and never looked back.

Biggest riser: Harkins +13
Biggest faller: Stanley -9

New: Perfetti, Torgersson, Johannesson
Grads to the NHL Roster: Appleton
Dropped: Nogier (Age), Spacek (contract), Valatti (contract)

Harkins +13 is the 2nd biggest rise for a prospect in a year. Appleton jumped 16 a couple of years ago (and Harkins was also the biggest faller that year...so he's been both).

The Jets have moved away from "re-stocking the cupboards" over the last 4 years (2017-2020) compared to the previous 4 (2013-2016) in terms of the quantity of players added via the draft. They've never been too aggressive signing UFA prospects (they do it once in a while but it's low volume).

If there is a player on those boards who could use an AHL season to revive his career it's Luke Green. Always had promise with his skating, but can never stay healthy.
Under 40 pro games played in 3 full seasons at 20 years old+ ( includes all 3, Nhl, Ahl, Echl) does not help a prospects growth.
The kid cannot stay healthy! Period. Doesn't matter if he can outperform Morrissey ( which he can't/doesn't, just making a statement), he cannot be counted upon to "be there". Put your "nickels in a different slot"!

Here we go. Found it. The 2020 Jets prospects poll was done later than usual, since COVID delayed the playoffs for a few months. Prospects pools in the last usually last through July, but it looks like August for 2021. I can help out, but I am never very good at starting these polls. Any volunteers?

No one has yet missed from the #1 spot. Copp holds the distinction of the only player to make it to the NHL from a ranking of #20. Appleton's the only one who made it from #19.

A few thoughts:

This is a great spreadsheet. Unfortunately winning and contending did a number on our draft results after Laine was picked up until Perfetti was drafted.

If Winnipeg doesn’t draft well we are in more trouble than almost any other market.

We are back to having a decent prospect list in 2023. It is my opinion we need to add two prospects in the next 3 drafts at key positions (Center + RHD or even LHD) that our franchise #1 centre and D men for the next core if we want to contend.

That will take luck.
