Like, who are his "haters" exactly? I can only think of one or two people who have ever taken an anti-DeAngelo stance, and IIRC it was for political reasons. Otherwise, most of his "detractors" are people like me who justified how Quinn handled him last year, or who point out (while acknowledging he's a big net positive!) that his defense is still lacking. Which doesn't make me a hater, at all. I point out flaws for pretty much every guy we have. So...who?

Lets not sit here and pretend only “1-2” people were bashing him left, right, and center when he was holding out. There were a good amount who are looking very foolish with their comments regarding him.

You weren't one of the posters in my head.

Oh, if you're talking about people who bashed him during the hold out, that's different (I actually forgot about that). Those people aren't "haters", either. I mean, Dubinsky and Stepan were both super popular here, and they were ravaged during their hold outs. People get pissed off, rightly or wrongly, when they perceive someone is putting themselves ahead of the team. Doesn't really make someone a hater, though. IMO, anyway.

Some of those during the holdout just wanted him in camp and knew he had no leverage. Very few posters were "bashing" him. There were a few saying "yay he was our best dman last year on a terrible team. Not saying much!" and things like that.

But most just thought holding out was a bad idea, since again... he had no leverage... and MOST of those posters also said "Come to camp, be ready to play and pick up where you left off and get paid next season."

Not bashing or hating etc.

I have not read it anywhere....but the announcers were saying after TBL scored their goal the other night Tony ripped the puck down the ice and the officials made him go down and retrieve it instead of tagging him for a delay of game or unsportsmanlike call.....TBL players were upset about the non call they said . Anyways...I missed the play and was curious if anyone heard or witnessed it ?

Yea I was at the game. This happened exactly as you described.

Good thing the referees were lenient, because that sounds like the type of thing that Quinn would bench him for. Quinn may have even missed it, who knows.

he didnt im sure.

this is the kind of thing tony needs to curtail.

im sure he was upset. he steps on the ice with the whole tampa line on an almost 3 on none because of an unforgivable bonehead line change and ends up trailing kucherov who scores into an empty net.

another minus for tony and brady.

i would be pissed too but its a selfish act on his part. his reaction showing the need for more self control

Lol @ these Blueshirt Banter bozos always talking about DeAngelo being traded. They make it painfully obvious why too when they bring up his “baggage” so much like he’s killed somebody.

If ADA is traded, it will only be because the Rangers want to move his salary/shore up another area, and it will not resemble a clearance sale.

And I will also include my obligatory statement that in the two years ADA has been with the team, I have never once heard any concerns about off-ice issues or his personalty. I feel fairly confident in saying this is a non-issue for the Rangers.

Lundqvist shot the puck in the direction of the refs after the first Boston goal. Why isn't a big deal like this? Maybe I misread the situation with Hank though.

upset players break sticks over the net, against the boards, shoot the puck into the boards or out of the net but to the side boards, etc, all the time after a goal

but god forbid you shoot it down the ice

The threat of delaying a game (that is not actually being played at the moment) is simply too great to ignore.

I was one of those guys bashing ADA, specifically because of the fact that we had no cap space to meet whatever his contract demands were. But I never criticized his abilities. I'm a huge fan.

I'm glad he did not get penalized for it....could have changed the entire game . I also like guys that show and play with emotion and hate losing ....hopefully lesson learned .

Heard he was the funniest guy in the locker room.

No question, playing with passion is important, but a player needs to be able to control it when it's counterproductive. DeAngelo has had a problem with controlling his emotions on the ice for quite a while. Referees don't like being chirped at constantly and they don't like players smacking the puck around after the whistle.

For me that's the biggest problem with his game: he loses control too often because he's frustrated with one thing or another.

Playing defense more would help too.
