I just don't get why people keep confusing "icing a better team now/winning" with "what's best for the player/culture".

Quinn said it for ****'s sake!!!

Putting ADA in means having a better chance at winning. That is not the point however. Doing what's best for him as a player and this team in the future is.

Once people stop *****ing about why their player isn't in when his corgis are better than everyone else's and start realizing that this staff is all about the future then we won't have 700 posts about ADA/Buch playing time.
If its about playing for the future why are Staal and smith playing? Why is Mcleod here? Why aren't guys like LA and Lindgren seeing more action?

Staal is the Alternate C, and is the defacto leader here (Hank aside), Smith has been benched plenty, McLeod? I dunno... who cares?

NYR aren't gonna be good for AT LEAST TWO more years. Get over it.

LA isn't even tearing up the AHL... you want him here? Lindgren? Got his cup and now has homework in the AHL. In time both will be back up.

They are developing these kids and each one has his own curve and needs.

I do not see the issue.

so just was talking to gianone on twitter. the maturity issues seem to stem from him chirping players and officials. ignoring warnings and a times going over the line. I haven't seen him get a misconduct so I think its ridiculous. the kid plays with a temper for sure and he needs to learn to contain it but man have we not had the most vanilla team ever here for years. we could use some bad guys. I honestly feel that way.

Now that's something tangible finally. Totally fine with this.

Couldn't agree more.

Interesting. Chirping officials is pretty dumb unless you're a real established and respect player but chirping other players, eh, who cares

I always thought he had an Avery characteristic to him but the problem lies with the Coaching staff telling him to reign it in. Once that point is reached, he needs to be held accountable

well the thing is whether we agree with it or not. if he's screaming at a ref and ruff tells him to cut it out because he thinks hes getting close to the line where it could cost us penalties and he juts keeps doing it, it becomes insubordination. then I can't blame Quinn. he's got to run his ship

Isn't this basically one of the many obvious scenarios that's been thrown around here for weeks now only to he pppffffftd at by you?

Not at all. We haven’t been given an explanation by anyone until brooks got something out of Quinn

If that's the reason he was benched for a few games, then that's fine. Chirping officials/opponents is fine, but there is a line that can be crossed, and it has it's time and place.

If the refs/coaching staff is having to repeatedly tell him to cut it out/reign it in a bit, and he doesn't, then more power to them for sitting him down and setting him straight.

Good on Quinn/coaching staff

Good point but theres a difference between official/coaches telling him to stop and actually being penalized... I think we should flirt with that line a bit more.. We were incredibly soft and bland under AV

wow totally agree. love his passion and emotion. kid can play and hes not a robot like pionk. hes a loose cannon for sure but nothing that seems to be over the top.

gimme more passion and more chirping and more sandpaper. its been far too long that weve been a bunch of wussies. sick of being pushed around.

if this is true, further cements my belief that its personal with quinn.

count me as one who has no problem with chirping, talking, yapping and the occasional face wash, etc etc. watch some of the you tube stuff out there from years past. lots of off color inappropriate stuff. seems like thats unacceptable in quinn's world ? what's next, quinn expecting all his captains to be alter boys when they were young.

the official thing seems to be real. dont kid your self, the zebras know who he is. abuse of an official or a ref is a big no-no. hes labeled for past behavior. it may play a part. in fact, how many times have we seen blatant fouls against ADA not called ? i can remember many. who knows though, but it seems plausible.

again, I've yet to see anything that would constitute a heinous act on his part. selfishness and maturity issues are one thing, but to sit him for 2 games seems to me to be rather extreme and perhaps counter productive for a player who appears to be one of the top dmen on the team.

btw, heinous is watching 44 and 18 play defense together. thats down right cruel to the eyes.

whatever ADA did, it didn't matter. quinn had to get his boytoy 44 back in action with 18 so they could get back to driving the tank off the cliff.

Coyotes' DeAngelo Suspended 3 Games For Abuse of Officials

But what is the maturity issue? What did he do exactly? I’m not denying there is a maturity problem, but I want to know.
Since Quinn chooses not to make this public, I suggest you petition him for the answer. In turn, I promise to contribute the answer just as soon as Quinn confides in me.

You mean by accident? Clearly you have to, because if that was on purpose, he would be banned from the league. But let's not allow facts to get in the way of a good story.
I don't care if it was on purpose.

It happened because his soft, cotton ass was hiding from Matt Martin.

Love it. The oversimplified justification. Quinn laid out the rules. DeAngelo choose to ignore them. He is a MORON who is in the process of playing himself out of the league. No? If the Rangers do not bring him back, he will be on his 4th NHL team before the ripe old age of 24. Is everyone a cretin besides you? Think of that. This hockey god will be on 4th NHL team before he is 24. How many other prodigies get to claim that fact. Is everyone an idiot besides you when it comes to ADA?

Dude, I respect you. But you have just lowered yourself to the level of debate with a 15 year old. This is assine.

Lost somewhere in much of this baffling debate is that I think everyone wants ADA to succeed.

There's different philosophies and opinions on the best approach, but everyone actually wants the same thing.
