DeAngelo's worst enemy is himself. He has the talent to stay in the lineup every night. It doesn't seem difficult to stop being a dickhead.
I'm glad this came out, even though it's still somewhat vague. A couple weeks ago I poked around on this as I said I would and all I really heard was that the kid was a hot head who showed maturity issues across the board and they're trying to break him of them.
It runs contrary to the whole "play your best players" thing but we're at a point as a franchise where we can afford to not do that, in the name of setting expectations and building a "Rangers way to play." I know that's not okay with some people but I'm good with it, especially as we rebuild.
ADA probably ripped one on the bench and Quinn got all offended and is saying Tony is immature so he benches him.
It’s lose lose for Tony, no matter what he does he will be sat with quinn. He just doesnt like him.
I feel pretty comfortable saying that I don't think it's the farting. Farting on the bench( and in the locker room) is something you kind of get used to once you hit bantams, passing gas is a time-honored tradition and you're more likely to get ice time than be banished for it.
It's cute when people have to make stuff up to ignore the issue at hand, especially with DeAngelo's history of, well, being an *******.
Maturity stuff sounds like he mouthed off to a coach, a teammate or the refs....just a guess of course.
He's done that in the past.
Honestly I like the transparency.
This I can deal with. It makes sense. The random scratches with no explanations is far more annoying and troublesome.
hockey is littered with characters and odd balls and on ice hot heads. its not a popularity contest.
marc messier had many documented issues on ice with keenan. tikanen was a clown. avery. and on and on.
mike keenan was a total ******* when he coached.
our very own and loved torts is a complete ******** to this day.
in fact, the hockey hall of fame has many members who fit the description. to a T.
thats our problem, we play bland , vanilla, passive hockey. we have no edge. no talent and no grit. talk about a team going no where. college coach bent on teaching lessons to a group without talent and without any emotion.
some how, we acquired this kid knowing his personality and maturity level. according to JG, we wanted this kid and had been on him since he was in syracuse. they weren't aware of this ? trust me, we were.
if its a respect thing, or a disrespect thing, thats not ok. if its an attitude thing or an emotion thing, thats fixable. but there has to be respect BOTH WAYS. these are adults, pro hockey players. these guys arent college kids. even that shatty thing was weird. hes hardly an attitude problem. its quinn.
benching ADA mid game for an emotional reaction seems a bit harsh ? kids playing the best hockey of any dman the last 6 games and carrying the carcass of marc staal up and down the ice. i think its personal with quinn and ADA. obviously.
i think guys like buchnevich and ADA both laugh inside knowing that pukes like pionk and staal play to a level that is well documented (worst in the league corsi) while ADA sits. that would piss me off too.
and buchnevich the same. 8 min with plugs like mcleod and nieves to teach him a lesson. imagine hes upset about that ? who wouldn't be ?
then all this crap about "intentions" to me is code for "ill play guys who suck before ill play talent who doesnt understand that trying and busting ass is more important than natural talent and production on the ice during a game".
its all about teaching lessons with quinn and his favorites are teflon. play your best practice players with good intentions who suck during games ?? huh ?
just like has back in college teaching lessons to kids who wont sniff the nhl.
not a quinn fan at all.

True. If anything, it's a real team builder.
Now, being a ******** to a coach or a teammate, as is quite clearly the case with DeAngelo, is a different story.
Not sure that he has a lot of time to figure it out. One team has already quit on him.Tony DeAngelo is still part of the future core so he has lot of time to figure it out.
Nonsense reason. This is more Quinn than DeAngelo. He did the same thing with Shattenkirk earlier in the year for saying something on the bench. Ever hear of other teams benching players mid-game/healthy scratching them for comments during the game? Almost never.
"History" cute. Lay out his "history" for me. We have absolutely zero info aside from 2 extremely vague comments by Quinn this season. It's cute when people have to make stuff up to ignore the issue at hand, especially with DeAngelo's history of, well, being an *******.

Not sure he was universally loved. Getting suspended for a playoff game is certainly not a good move for the team. But wasn't he an example someone whose histrionics are only tolerated because they come with a level of success?our very own and loved torts is a complete ******** to this day.

Effort doesn't require talent. Maybe Buch can learn by watching those two plugs that you can do something to give an honest shift, contribute and add value even if you don't score a goal. There's a reason guys like McLeod and McQuid are on this team.buchnevich the same. 8 min with plugs like mcleod and nieves to teach him a lesson. imagine hes upset about that ? who wouldn't be ?
This sounds oversimplified and laced with conjecture. Quinn is trying to build a culture. Effort is important. Effort doesn't take talent. Lots of talented guys have come through this league—hell, through this team—who have flamed out because the effort wasn't there.then all this crap about "intentions" to me is code for "ill play guys who suck before ill play talent who doesnt understand that trying and busting ass is more important than natural talent and production on the ice during a game".

That’s on Buch and ADA no matter what anyone wants to argue to the contrary. It doesn’t matter if they’re better players than X, Y or Z
