because Zito is smart enough to know that draft picks are just free assets. Bennett is a proven NHLer who plays a style that we need to win.

And he’s definitely kept some. You have to take advantage of the fact that other teams might covet players more than you do, or have a bigger need.

Tallon would’ve held onto Levi until the cows come home while Zito was willing to part with him to get a player like Reino.

Yeah but the thing is the number of teams to trade with and also their cap space shrinks once the season starts. Right now it would be a lot easier for us to make moves, and still ice a good team, even if none of us want to part ways with Bennett or Reino. I'm scared that we start the season with this D and get shelled, and then there are no UFA's to sign and it's a lot harder to make a trade. Imo if we do that, there's no significant trades until the deadline.
