Vegas is completely ruthless. I’m pretty sure their fans are quite happy with how thing have gone there since they came into the league.
We haven't won a cup in dam near 60 years and Vegas has already won one And it’s starting to look like this team needs a complete retool but Shanny is looking these losers up for the next 5 years so we won’t even get that.

I wish every time this happens we didn’t have to talk about no response. I think we have to admit no response is ever coming. It ain’t happening with this group.

I made my wife a deal…if nothing happened on the face off, she could change the channel. Needless to say she got her wish. I didn’t have to subject myself to that embarrassing feeling you get for other people when they just roll over. It’s my new strategy

I just watched the replay. You are right. I didn’t notice the stick go in first before he stuck his leg out. 100 percent intentional and dirty. Typical Ratchand
MacAuley was less then 10 feet away, what an absolutely chicken shit league
Well that sucks

We need to find a replacement for him, running lagesson is not a long term solution
Maybe he is, no one knows yet
Boy that's a dirty play to me. You just can't have it, sending guy in to the boards like that. Gave him the ol'Brian McCabe Can Opener, it's a hard compete move sure, but going in to the boards like that.. I mean the result speaks for itself.

I don't know what comes of it.
Nothing will come of it. The Leafs didn't care about it why would the league, besides the Boston captain is the owners little pet taking all those discounts everytime he signed. I actually admire that, it's too bad our best players don't understand that they need talented team-mates around them, not just guys hungry for maybe one last contract for minimum wage.
Yes, a standard forechecking move that went awry. Like I’ve said the NHL allows some retribution when things like that happen.
There's a reason they banned Caber from doing it many years ago, it is standard in zero leagues
Brian McCabe's league, pre-lockout.
Exactly

Sure, that's one.

Interestingly, McPhee would've been my pick to come in, but it likely resulted in Shanny conceding power.
I wanted Tulsky but McPhee would have been a huge upgrade on who we ended up with.
It’s odd how little of the blame Shanny has taken for the mess this team has been. He is starting to get a bit now but he influenced much of the roster construction and hired all the GMs that built it.

Bertuzzi thought it was a joke.

Bertuzzi doesn’t matter to me. He’s a mercenary here for one year and he can get lost if he doesn’t figure it out.

What really bugs me are the core guys who fall back on the “I didn’t see it” like that’s plausible deniability. You saw a teammate take a major injury and you weren’t curious or caring enough to check the iPad? You didn’t talk to Lily? It wasn’t a topic during intermission? I’m not even asking Matthews or Marner or Nylander or Tavares or Rielly to do anything on the ice. You couldn’t have condemned the damn hit in an interview?

McCabe was doing it intentionally, Marchand was trying to gain leverage and was too careless and got his stick caught between his legs.

Good things Reaves is making everyone feel taller. Really?? If Lily was taller the injury could have been worse. How does that POS Marchand get away with this? He LICKED us again.

He gets away with it because the Leafs players let him get away with it.

They have no balls.

Leafs management sent a message to the dressing room when the exiled Kadri for retaliatory acts.

Looked really bad. Still can’t believe NO ONE stood up for Liljegren. Such a dirty play by the rat.
Contrary to everyone's belief.. almost nobody does anything.

No response to McAvoy head hunting OEL.

No response to Aho kneeing Fox. (Trouba did talk about it in dressing toom)

That is just this week.

For whatever reason, I have a theory, it has just seemed to slowly leave the game.

I 100% believe the Leafs should have responded in some manner, but this is not just a Leaf thing

Options
1. Call up Topi Niemela and throw him inti the fire to become a #2D trial by fire style
2. Lagesson+AHL stop gap until Timmins is healthy and pray Timmins isnt injured again
3. Make a deal for Zadorov or Tanev or Connor Murphy and get a solid #4D

Nobody said anything about simultaneous. You can't do either one with your skate lifted into the air.
I said that you can't do either one simultaneously. This is probably why Liljegren is in this predicament.

Do you remember in your playing days skating into the corner with a forward breathing down your neck? Did you play the puck only, or did you brace yourself for the impact?

Then we go at them again, it's about who breaks first. Marner and Matty need their balls to drop, it.s about time they become men.
Never......EVER........gonna happen.

34 is too laid back and 16 is delusional in that he thinks it's close knit group because they head down to the Caribbean together every year.

The only thing you can do is have a bunch of greasy rats of your own. At least you can get a pound of flesh of your own and in a playoff series that can pay off.
And in a regular season game maybe someone like Marchand thinks twice against doing what he did if he knows the game will turn violent with both teams taking runs at each other.
Guys like Reeves do nothing to deter guys like Marchand because they are never going to fight.

So much for the new SNOT squad...

I have an observation regarding the team's toughness.
Mitch, Willy, JT will NEVER scrum it up in defense of a teammate. (Auston is a maybe/probably not)
That is too many non-combative players for one team.

I have never said this but Mitch should be the odd man out, deal him to a team that is already team-tough and he will be awesome. Too hard to win in the playoffs with so many guys that won't push back.
