March still out was a dare they didn’t take.
That's what it seemed like. Looks like the Coach thought, lets get this response over with so we can get on with the game but the Leafs didn't step up.

Wonder what Tie thought watching his son there?

What would be great is if our core wasn't so devoid of these elements.

If you rank our core on things like stickhandling, skating, offensive creativity, shooting ability, they'd rank at the very top in the league.

If you rank our core on things like intensity, physicality, sacrifice, willingness to do whatever it takes to win they'd rank at the very bottom in the league.

Maybe some of the eye test people go too far with overvaluing those things but to pretend like they aren't extremely real things is just as bad of an oversight.
Our core forwards are fine, but it would be fantastic to find a unicorn like a prime Lucic/Wilson that could contribute in the top 6. Extremely hard to do though.

The defense has the biggest opportunity for change. Ideally we could add a couple guys to this roster to provide some of that.

Rielly-???
???-Liljegren
Brodie-???
Gio

Reaves/Kampf/Jarnkrok really haven't been great and I can't see how some combo of Robertson/Steeves/McMann/Abruzzese wouldn't be better

Based on his track record the suspension should be significant. I won’t hold my breath though.
lmao no chance he gets suspended. McAvoy just got 4 games, Jacobs and his pet aren't suspending Marchand now.

I don't think its suspendable anyway, but yeah 0 chance he gets suspended for that. Absolutely should have been a penalty though, insane that it's not, then again it's Wes so I'm not even surprised.

Brad Marchand deliberately "can openers" a fellow NHL player into the boards causing what could be a career threatening injury and does not even receive a 2 minute penalty.
Shane Pinto is suspended for 41 games for allowing a buddy to use his betting account.

Pretty clear what the NHL prioritizes.

Ya, I can buy lots of arguments around it, but if you can't at least admit that's a can-opener and at least a penalty, one that results in injury, there's no point discussing it.
Even if you don't think it's a penalty, it still needed a response.

Or most people in the building didn't think it was a dirty play and thought it was an accident, but that is too logical, so that can't be it.
What?

Boston left March out daring the Leafs to respond after Lily got injured on if nothing else a careless play. You hold that to be untrue?

100%. But I mean that's a penalty, an accidental trip even as part of a hockey battle is still a trip.

I don't think Boston left out one of their best players daring the Leafs to jump him, no.

I think that most people AT THE TIME thought it was a puck battle and not much else, an accidental trip. I think in hindsight, that is not the case, but at the time I am assuming most players thought that.

I also don't think Perry deserved a beating for accidentally injuring Tavares.

Ok. Well agree to disagree then, felt deliberate to me (leaving him out that is).

I think it was accidental, but that shouldn’t make a difference in the response.

Stanley Cup is not awarded to p_ussies. Be it they cant hack the physical playoff game or they cant stick up for one another. What I don't get is, it is a natural Male reaction to want to protect your family and by extension your friends, has this generation of Leafs been neutered by their coach so much there is no man left in them? Hell if you want to bench me, bench me but as ling as my name is on the back of this jersey this shit wont happen. Who gives two flying F's about 2 points in early November, kick the snot out of Marchand and Pasta so bad they can't play the next game.

This soft as F, if it comes easy I'll do it mentality is so F-ing pervasive in todays game. No one wants to get punched in the face, but no one should want to see their brother lying on the ice alone with no response while f*** nuts taunts your bench. There is an old saying in business, if you want to be successful, did you do more to grow your business today than your competition? Did the Leafs do anything to grow the chemistry / team bond yesterday? F-ing nutless neutered p_ussies..... Sad sad display of what passes for a man in todays game...

The lesson we all learned form yesterdays game, not a f-ing teammate has your back ..so yeah... you are on your own.
