Timothay should supplant Holl. Holl plays well for stretches, but he gets fatigued and makes dumb plays like on that lone Ottawa goal the last game. It was just preseason but what was he doing so deep in the O zone when can’t skate fast enough to make it back on a turnover?

Anyway, I’ve enjoyed reading the blather in this thread.

My partner, continually forgets to mention, or bring up, Liljegren, but having met and socialized with borje, I can say, he would be impressed with this guy...

I hope and pray, the leafs see what I see in this player..

I see a lot in this player.... i think dubas and keefe do as well.

I think Robertson, and lilly and Sandin, will define, Keefe and Dubas..

In a year or two, keefe and dubas, might be regarded as giants..

So guess what...... its at a point, fake a cake, bake a cake, make a cake etc... with this player..

all i can tell our fan b ase is this.....this nhler is not forgotten, not at all

I make my living placing a few bets on giantism...\\

Shapiro and atkins keep making me money..

I have never put a dime on dubas so far.....

I am pretty sure, dubas knows what i already know...

TIM could right now fit in and be a NHLer

But unlike Dermott, he knows this kid, TIM, could become a f***ing Horton for the leafs..

I have huge contacts.. I CAN get as far up dubas thoughts as anyone else...close to him

But as far as liljegren, and Keefe.... no more head scratching is requiredl.

they know what i know and all of us know..

The kid is an

nhler..

But maybe, he is a drew doughty.....

DiUBAS has had a lot of shit thrown at HIM....i think the guy is brilliant, lets see how it plays out.., The players love this guy btw...

All Dubas needs is this garbage to move out of his way..

In closing, this fan base, leaf management, sweden, and anyone else who gives a f***.

This player is loved by LEAF management..

LOVED, by swedes.

Loved by his supposed competition, rasmus.,..

We are not alone..... Everyone around this guy, loves him...

S
but tell us how you really feel......

I don't understand the "has struggled" during his call ups comments. He's played what, a dozen games in the NHL? Not enough in my mind to be called a bust yet, or it's now or never, or even say he's struggled for that matter. Give him 25 games at the very least.

He DID have a bad time when he was called up 2 seasons ago. He was legitimately fantastic in both games he played last season. I don't get it either.

Not to mention that the defense consisted of Barrie /Holl /Marincin /Dermott/ Sandin /Liljegren /Rosen for some of those games when Rielly/Muzzin/Ceci were out. Not exactly a good support system defensively for your first experience of NHL hockey.

I’d be surprised if we see Sandin and Liljegren together on opening night. Nothing against either as they’ve both played well this pre-season, more so in the way that even through all of Keefe’s line juggling we didn’t see those two paired and now they’ll be starting off the season as a pair.

I tried to not look too closely, but from what i observed,..

nba tall, nfl ugly and he seems smiffed.\\

ME, top of the line, before his mom...MISS canadas miss uni;s etc...

Or even better stay single...\\\

SEEMS VERY ugly..,.

this has to be AI or something.

Liljegren is clearly the 7th guy. Although I wonder if he is rotated in Thursday?

I don't think saying he's struggled means he's a bust, just going through the development path of many prospects that have their share of ups and downs.

But imo it means he hasn't clear cut won a roster spot (which again, is different from calling him a bust)

I agree he hasn't. But neither has Sandin. I think he's been better than Sandin this preseason though and should be given the chance.

And yes struggled and bust are definitely 2 different tiers. I wasn't meaning for them to sound equal. And right between them is the group saying he has to do something this year, it's now or never, make the lineup or ask for a trade....crazy.

Bottom pairing should be Lily and Dermott. Dermott is worse on his offside when playing with Sandin, Lily has nothing to learn in thr AHL and Sandin can learn the physical side of the game and work on footspeed, positioning, gap control etc in the AHL.

LMAO. Liljegren isnt playing game 1 for a reason.

Put him in over Dermott already. Have no idea what Dermott does that makes him such a better option over Liljegren. Guy is barely bottom pair quality.
Come on now, you know its not what Dermott does, its what Liljegren doesnt do that determines their ice time. Don't be so obtuse, nobody would trust that kid against NHL players in a meaningful game. He's got a nice pro career on some European club ahead of him though, so there's that.
