Time to Sign Subban

  • We sincerely apologize for the extended downtime. Our hosting provider, XenForo Cloud, encountered a major issue with their backup system, which unfortunately resulted in the loss of some critical data from the past year.

    What This Means for You:

    • If you created an account after March 2024, it no longer exists. You will need to sign up again to access the forum.
    • If you registered before March 2024 but changed your email, username, or password in the past year, those changes were lost. You’ll need to update your account details manually once you're logged in.
    • Threads and posts created within the last year have been restored.
    • Our 2025 light and dark themes were lost, so we are rebuilding them. Light theme is currently available, but work in progress

Our team is working with Xenforo Cloud to recover data using backups, sitemaps, and other available resources. We know this is frustrating, and we deeply regret the impact on our community. We are taking steps with Xenforo Cloud to ensure this never happens again. This is work in progress. Thank you for your patience and support as we work through this.

In the meantime, feel free to join our Discord Server

Not to insult you but...You need to re-read the post.
I never said PK wasn't better the MDZ, I asked how much better and in my eye's he's not 4 millin dollars better then what MDZ got which is 2.55 per year.

Subban is not Duncan Keith, Shea Weber or Drew Doughty good tus he deserves significantly les then them and like others before him two year deal is plenty leading up to one more RFA contract before becoming UFA.

7 million Two years and 3.5 cap hit is plenty for Subban.
I may stretch it out to 8 mil but that would be the absolute max.
Meehan also represents MDZ so this will be interesting......

Dude, normally when you're out to lunch you offer to pick something up for the rest of us...

I'd do that.

Maybe Cole and a prospect and a 1st.
Last thing we should be doing is dealing away picks. Vets? Sure. Picks no.

We should learn from the Leafs mistakes. Dealing away 1sts is a dumb thing to do. Even if Benn is wicked, no sense dealing away picks. Markov, Plekanec, Cole... those guys are okay to trade away but keep the picks.

Look at the Leafs, they got a top ten scorer last year and the deal is still considered a disaster. I've seen that movie before and I don't like Horror shows. No thanks.

If the Stars want to deal away Benn (they won't) that's fine. They can have all the vets they want and they can have Leblanc (don't know why they'd want him) but no picks....

Any player we get in the 1st round, especially considering the likelihood of a low finish, will be just as good if not better than Benn.

What? No. A pratically PPG 6'3 center is worth more than a late 1st round pick. A lot more.

Seems to me those quotes are about Gomez.

And talk about talking a lot but saying little of substance.

Anyway guys, i remeber reading a article about Benn saying he would not want to play in Canada because of the media. So forget it, boys.

I have no problem dealing a 1st for a proven commodity like Benn. You'd hope that a 1st could turn into a Benn after a few years after he's drafted. Benn is that, now.

Benn has publicly stated that he prefers the anonymity in Dallas than he would in a Canadian city.

Also, the proposals to rip Dallas off is hilarious. Sure, Gainey is there and all, but come on, people.

This came fromm the Admin LARider on Sportsnet forum.

Subban's Agent, Don Meehan is based out here in Southern California, and also represents Drew Doughty, the Kings great D-Man. Don has a VERY good relationship with the Kings well-respected Hockey Writer, Helene Elliott.

And Helene has said she THINKS they are looking for "Doughty money" about $7 Million a Year, 7 or 8 Years, for PK.

I think he's one contract away from getting the big, multi-year, $7+ million dollar contract. At $5 million or $5.5 million, over 3-4 years, that would be the most I see Bergevin going for. At least now with Gomez's money off the books next season, it will be less of a bitter pill to swallow.

If it' the case, then we won't see PK this Winter.

But it doesn't make much sense. Just another sick rumor.

Bobby Mac earlier on SportsCenter (TSN) made it seem like the main problem is length, with PK looking for a really long term and the Habs looking for a 2 year deal.
